Just a quick Q

Ok small noobish question I only have Factions but need some Prophecies skills. If I kill a boss that has say "Dolyak signet" could i capture that skill with a signet of capture even though Dolyak is a Prophecies only skill? thanks

Factions has many skills that Prophecies has too. They are just named different.

It has 30 prophecies skills, 5 for each class. I'd hardly call that 'many prophecies skills'.

Ok, after taking a look, I have determined that there are no loopholes in the skills you can get in each campaign. Even the Flesh Golem things you kill have all Core skills (so do regular ones).

I think now that I look at it, we need some more information. Such as; does this person have acess to the other campaign?

You can't cap Dolyak Signet without the prophercies campaign. Reason being Dolyak is a prophercies only skill.
As far as I've seen there are no bosses in factions that use Dolyak Signet.

I'd advise you to get hold of the other chapter (Prophercies) apart from the fact you'll be able to open up alot of really good skills *shield stance*, it's also got a nice story line, vast area's to quest and farm bosses or mobs. Plus alot of players that are fun to group with.

I think 1 or 2 quests were added for Factions character for Signet of Capture; i think they're in Kaineng.

But you should always be able to find it at your local [Skills] Trader.

Is there any similar skill to that, in Factions? I'm using "Watch yourself", it's +20. I heard that Dolyak is +40?

To answer your original question...
YES you can cap any skill a slain boss has!(only your professions of course)
I know this from a personal expereince back when i hurried while capping and pulled regular skill instead of elite skill by accident.

There aren't any other skills you can use, you will have to go with a secondary class skill for more armour.

And since it seems as if you're an Elemental secondary you can use Armor of Earth.

I would suggest you pick "Balanced Stance" instead, it doesn't provide any armour but it helps you against knockdown and you don't take extra damage from critical hits.

However like "Watch Yourself" it's a Tactics skill so it will work best for a Tactics Build.

Even if you some how could find a way to cap Dolyak Signet, I doubt you'd be able to use it. People with only 1 campaign have reported using Arcane Thievery/Larceny, Inspired/Reveal Hex/Enchantment and so on to get hold, temporarily, of a skill from a campaign they didn't own. While the skill appeared on their bar, it had a padlock symbol on it, and could not be used.
Similarly, this phenomenon can be seen with PvP characters of anyone who has only Prophecies and unlocked Factions skills during a preview event.

so, the simple answer to your question is: no.
no factions bosses have prophecies only skills.
