I know there is already a topic on touch rangers, but it seems to have deteriorated into a flame war, and besides, I found a new revolution in the fight against touchers:

{Psychic Distraction}
10 Energy
1/4 cast
2 Rchrge
All of your other skills are disabled for 8 seconds. If target foe is using a skill, that skill is interrupted and disabled for 5...11 seconds.

Its a Mesmer Elite, in the domination magic line of skills.

Basically, although it disables all your other skills for 8 seconds, it only has a 2 second recharge time itself. This means you can use it again and again, even when your other skills are recharging. The 10 energy cost is.... unfortunate, as it means you can't really spam it, but apart from that I found it works pretty well against touchers.

Coupled with Diversion its even better. Diversion will disbale one of the toucher's fav skills (Vamp Bite or Vamp touch) for a minute, meaning they'll have to rely on the other of their skills. You can then keep that disabled using Psychic Distraction.

Thoughts?

It's an ok skill. Prefer it on other casters though.

It is nice; I still perfer denial however. My elite is usally powerblock (which all of you should know by now heh)
Too bad PB doesn't work for skills like PD does.

I love Psychic Distraction, but I usually take Power Block or E-Surge as my mesmer elite.

PD has disability and interrupt... but I wish it wasnt so costing...

I've used PD against a touch ranger before. It was pretty cool forcing him to wand. But the only trouble with this one is that your build needs to be full of enchantments or stances, because then when they are disabled it wont be such a burden on you.

That and the fact that although he is interrupted; both of your dps ratios are equal. Your damage = his damage...because of the net damage and lack of ability to fully disable any key player at any moment...I removed PD from my fav lockdown skill list. (powerblock->blackout->diversion->new skill of the future)

Anyway, if you havent a toucher in the other team, you can use it to interrupt the casters with PD. You must have any support to sac when you use PD thought.
