High levels in ascalon?
Mesmer in Need
Ok me and my friend both play gw and one time we were telling about eachothers experiences in the game. He told me about another lvl 20 lead him into the diessa lowlands and showed him a high level area. I went in there with my w/mo runner, but i only found charr and gargoyles. It there a place i missed or is my friend bs'ing me?

One of the end-game titan quests takes place in Ascalon, and spawns high level baddies. This is probably what you saw.
milan
There is one area he could be talking about, Dragons Gullet, hydra and flesh golems etc, not exactly high level but it does require more than the average level 6-7 there. You get to it through the flame temple corridor, the portal right by altheas ashes
elliot
lol thous are noobies above the temple went there once just to scout all the stuff
think he ment the titan quest thought I cant take it jet

oh titans source... i never thought of that. My friend who told me that hasent goten to the titans yet. He didnt know what he was facing.
Storm Crow
Well if your friend didn't have the quest, the person who took him there probably did. It's all just a scam to scare new players, no worries.
Mesmer in Need
hes not a new player- hes a level 20, but he hadent reached the rof yet
Commander Ryker
There is a place like that. I saw it long before any of those titan quests came out. I'm thinking it was either in or around Dragons Gullet like Milan said with hydra's and flesh golem's.

I wouldnt refer to something i could solo on a level 15 ele 'high level', though. It most probably was last day dawns.
BaconSoda
It was probraly Last Day Dawns. I often use my ranger to help guildies and scare the bejesus out of random people on the way to Surmia with the lvl 24-28 Charr Lords.

A picture is worth a 1,000 words, here's 4.
The hydra that were mentioned:
and, what s/he thought was golems (and I do admit, they kinda looked like golems) but were level 11's called Abominations. And yes, a level 11 will look like a high level when you are a 7 or 8.

Lvl 11 is hardly a high level area, and someone already mentioned dragon's gullet.
This is also the area you go for Titan's source quest.

Must have been dragon's gullet if it wasn't LDD. At lvl 12 I remember going there and being freaked out at seeing a mass of lvl 11 Abominations. I also remember it being UBER HARD since I was a rager and being slowed in attack speed with faintheartedness(1st time I ever saw it ) and being knocked down with meteor every 10 seconds (1st time seeing that one too ). But then later in the game (before the Glint Quests were added) a couple of my guild-mates and me went and cleared the whole place out. Same as we did when we were lvl 12 .
Mesmer in Need
my friend who told me about this is an an ok runner and he said that he had explored the dragons gullet and ftc. The high levels he described to me probably were the titans, but he never said there were anything like fists or hands of the titans

It is not the area you go for the titans quest, that is out of Frontier gate. There are no titans there, nor hands nor fists or anything relating to the freaking titans. It was hydra's and abominations. The same as the first time I went there, ALMOST A YEAR AGO, BEFORE THE TITANS QUESTS WERE AROUND.
Roupe
Actually there is two high lvl quest quest that temporarilly changes their respective area in ascalon. adding high lvl titans and charrs
Last day dawns - changes Eastern Frontier
Titan source - changes Dragons Gullet

unholy guardian
i do beleive after you finish the quest lines you kneel by the statue of glint in droknar's
markus_thom
finishing the titan quest missions seems like a waste of time, Whish there was some sort of exlusive green you got for finishing it like there was in factions.
Always wanted a outpost in dragon gullet to, hope something is based there in the future.

Anet have already stated they wont be making anymore updates or expansions for Prophecies so you wont get nothing based in Dragons Gullet.

<<<Lets just imagine if Anet decide to stick to the current formular>>>>
They decide to drop the old chapters into the ground and focus only on new chapters when they are released.
So after the release of chapter 5 we will have 5 different continents thats unless anet decide to expand off previous continents.
<<<<The impact it will or could cause>>>>
Players of guild wars will be spread out across all the different landmasses, meaning it will be hard to find humans to team with, and outposts will be like ghost towns.
Previous flaws and lack of depth in storyline/gameplay will be left unsolved in previous chapters when it could of easily been implemented.
Sometimes expansions are needed, they can just release the patches expansions for the previous chapters through the new games if they wanto make money.
To much isolation between chapters is a lame thing, Why cant people see that?
It's like leaving a story untold. We need unity between the different chapters, such as story that carries on or flows or links to other chapters which could involve quests that link to playing more then one chapter.
So in basic giving the players of guild wars reasons to travel back to old chapters.
