Greetings,
I had the priviledge of playing over the beta weekend and I have an issue I think needs to be improved upon.
During gameplay you can hit F to target the nearest creature. This is problematic as it doesn't always work.
I would use this with my monk and end up targeting a monster around the other hill, down the road a bit, or not even in our general fighting area.
I suggest that an assist key be made available. This would allow a group to target the same monster and focus their energy on it. It is extremely difficult to target the correct monster in combat, especially when multiple adds are eminent.
A way to target a player and assign the assist key would stop the F key problem from happening and would allow a quicker dispatch of enemies. This would also be great in PvP.
Did anyone else find this to be troublesome?
If you didn't, please explain what you did to get around this.
If you did find it to be a problem, does my idea seam plausible?
Or do you have a suggestion that might be more efficient?

Thoughts on an assist key?

There is a way you can controll all of your energy on one monster.
When you click on it to attack, hold down control, then your teammates can Press T to attack the same monster!

In other words what you want is an extension of the 'call out' command, but instead have it so you always target the enemy of your chosen team mate?
I'd imagine most teams are organised enough to press 'T' (or whatever you assigned it to) during call outs anyway, but it would be a nice feature if you happen to group up with strangers.

Personally I never use F, I use tab to cycle through targets I want, and I then look at the target display to find out the name and the profession types. I can then ctrl + click to call the target so my team can pick the same target to attck .
Otherwise I press c which picks the closest target to me.

F is not to target nearest
F=target next and
;=target nearest
F=target next and
;=target nearest

I appreciate all the responses.
I wasn't aware of the T key function.
That would have been helpful. I just found it very frantic at times to get organized as I was playing with people, including myself that had never played before.
If I remember correctly, the F function did in fact target nearest.
It stated this in the help guide and also on my screen.
Thanks again.

Oh btw, Freyas...I enjoy your posts about monks. Very insightful and extremely helpful.
This is by far the most informative site I've found.

by pressing control and then selecting your health, deathsick, mana, or target, it will be reported to the group chat. Target will get a "T" assist message as well.
T for assist needs to be rebindable however, it's very badly placed on Dvorak boards.

Some advice that may seem obvious to most but is crucial to some:
I'd like to add that when you use Control to call out a target, your teammates need to press "T" and then Spacebar in order to attack. I know at least one person we played with in a PUG who wasn't attacking at all who got really frustrated because he said he was pressing T but he wasn't attacking.
You have to make sure they follow up with an actual attack, it's not enough to just have everyone "look" at the same target.
