Why am I here *Spoilers*
hahman14
Ok, I'm not here to flame the game at all. The thing is that I am now in Ring of Fire yet I still kinda don't know what it is that I'm doing there. I'll start at the beginning.
1.We're with Prince Rurik fighting the Charr
2.We win a battle and then we get kicked out of Ascalon
3.We join forces with the Deldrimor Dwarves because the Stone Summit is full of jerks
4.We pass through the Shiverpeaks and finally get to Kryta
5.We team with the White Mantle because we have a common enemy (undead)
6.We find out the White Mantle are asses so we team up with the Shining Blade.
7.The Shining Blade gets kind of messed up so we're forced to escape to the desert
8.We learn a bit more about the Flame Seeker Prophecies and we get Ascended.
9.We talk to Glint and afterwards we end up in the Shiverpeaks again.
10.We meet up with the Dwarves and we start running in these magical creatures called the Mursatt.
11.We learn about some seer and we once again here about the Flameseeker prophecies from (??him/her??) when we get infused.
12.We kick the White Mantle's ass because they followed us and took back the capital for the Deldrimor Dwarves.
13.We go through some portal and we see the Lich appear again.
14.Now I am in the Ring of Fire, and people are talking about the Mursatt but I don't know who they are other than that they are trying to kill me.
Ok, so the reason for this is all in #14. I'm pretty sure I got everything that happened before. All I want to know is where in the story were the Mursatt put in and why are we mortal enemies?? Am I supposed to discover this late because I find it retarted that I'm searching for a weakness to some enemy when I don't know what it is. Blah

.....damn. I need to go back and redo that mission then. See, the only cutscene that I have officially skipped was the one before the last cutscene before you go to the Ring of Fire(hope that made sense because I forgot the name of the mission). Now that you mention it I believe that I do remember Glint explaing all of this but I may have been distracted by something. Thank you.

Is anyone else completely annoyed by the main storline of the game? Bad voice acting, common plot, only the Ascalon and Muguuma missions are fun (To me), none actually give the feel fo warfare and few give a sence of adventure.
Sure, the quests are all great, but most of the missions are either boring or frustration.

Than
Yeah, half the time I have to restrain myself from rolling my eyes during the cut scenes. I'm going to hurt myself one of these times. I do it so often its bound to happen.

Well I will say that Evennia's little speech on the boat after the shining blade woman died (can't remember her name) struck me as over-the-top corny and rather lame.
Also, there's a part in Kryta where the white mantle priestess orders the soldier to transfer the chosen somewhere, and a white mantle guy answers her with an enthused "Yes, Sir!" I laugh every time.

The mursaat are killing people known as 'The Chosen', or at least have the White Mantle do it for them, because the prophecy said that the chosen would bring them down.
And you, as a member of the said group, are going after them and the mantle because they're killing the chosen...
Self-fulfilling prophecies rock, don't they?

the Mursaat know the Flame Seeker Prophecies
only reason Mursaat built a fortress at the door/gate of Komalie is because the prophecy foretells that the Chosen will open the door to the Mursaats demise
the Mursaat are trying to stop the prophecy of their doom

Still...there remains an element about the story that isn't very well explained.
How do you get from the searing problem with the charr, and the defense of Ascalon...to running off to another kingdom. (of which you never see the Royalty, or even mention for that matter) and get caught up in the whole bs of the Flameseeker Prophecy when the problem in Ascalon still remains unresolved?
Okay...great...you complete the flameseeker prophecy...problem is...there's nothing really linking it to the beginning of the story in the first place. (And before you say 'You just haven't watched the cutscenes." I've got 4 PvE characters...Did all of the missions IN ORDER for each one.)

Yeah, they never really explain that. But if I could tell the tale...
"And so the Charr did indeed smite all of Ascalon, raze the buildings with the fire from their arcane deity, crush the few who would try to oppose them, and pillage all Ascalonians of their gold and highly overrated fiery dragon swords..."
Buuuutttt.... That's just me.

i love the scene when rurik gets crushed by the tree and talks to the main character,
rurik says something like: leave me and go
the character doesnt even question him, just runs back..
there is another instance that is like that in a different mission, but i forgot which one
