I have the Cities of Ascalon quest. Does anyone know where you're
supposed to start to look for the historical monument in surmia?

The Mission Ruins of Surmia. You'll get to it eventually if you haven't already. Just keep doing missions and it should bring you to it. (I believe you take a quest from an outpost after Fort Ranik or something)

The first time i had that quest i aldo got confused, it shows a green star, but no historical monument is there, you need to do the mission
