Armor Levels

I was looking at some websites and the types of armor you could get. Where i got confuesed was at the armor levels. It showed the armor like say for Monks Sandals, one set was...

Level=15
Energy Regen=+1
Craft Materials=1 bolt of cloth; 1g

The other...

Level=30
Energy Regen=+1
Craft Materials=2 bolt of cloth; 15g

Question is what advantage does the level 30 Sandals have, because both have energy regen of +1.

The level is actualy armor level (AL). The higher the AL, the less damage you receive.

higher level of protection

i think the base maximum is 60al for a monk but runes can raise it

one rune/piece 5 max per set

OOOO, silly me never even thought about AL... doh i knew what AL was... gosh i feel dumb now!

Edit: Another Question, can i mix and match "sets?" (i would hope so)

Edit: And... Another what you prefer... +1 energy regen or +1 energy or is there a way that u say it would be equal? like +1regen and +3 energy is about equal?
