The "select next enemy" function presently seems to cycle through enemies from most distant to closest, meaning that it is useless in combat when there's more than two or three red dots on the radar.

I propose that it instead cycles enemies from closest to most distant, so that the first click targets closest, the second click targets second closest etc. That way you'd first cycle through all the enemies in the group you're currently fighting, and most likely most interested in, before moving to the next group.

Mine typically cycles from closest to farthest (whether or not they are upcoming in your path). I use the [ and ] keys....

Go into your game Options from the menu in-game. Double check the keys assigned to changing targets. There is already something in there that does exactly what you're asking for. Maybe you just need to remap it?
