I haven't been playing this game for too long, only about 3 weeks now. I've noticed a lot of "running to xxx zone for xxx gold each person", also the questions on this forum.

I wonder, why oh why?

For those who pay for their character advancements (pay to get to the next area), is their solo purpose of this game is to reach the final zone, to reach level 20, to have godly max dmg shocking sword of the uberest, regardless of means?

For me, I want to enjoy character and story development of the games I paid $ for, I want to learn and get good at the game. why buy a game and try the best to skip content?

There are a lot of reasons:

-person is on a second/third character and wants to skip the baloney
-person wants to twink their level 10 character and whup arse at the ascalon arena
-person wants to dance as a level 1 in Droknar's to show off
-person is just lazy and has the money

But hey, to each their own ;p

Some people have probably beaten the game with one character and want to quickly "get to the good stuff" with a new character.

That, or people are lazy and just dont care

With my first character I did every quest and mission I could find. With my second, I wanted to speed things along, but I did that by just doing the missions and primary quests.

It basically comes down to each individuals view of the game and what they are trying to accomplish, as long as they do not effect my gameplay, I don't care.

I just got ran to the forge. But I'm not trying skip out on any of the story or anything like that. I did it just becuase I was bored, wanted to watch the run(pretty cool just to watch), and I wanted to see Droknars forge. But I'm still going to do every quest and mission I can. Now I'm just leveling up before I go back to the original story line so I don't get murdered. So there are lots of reasons, and they aren't all just to kill newbs in arenas and skip the whole story.

Somewhere unexpected

I completed the pre-searing with every quests for first character. So, for subsequent characters, I just quest for skills/items I want so won't feel too naked in post-searing.

In my clan there are alot of people trying to get ran to Droknar's Forge who haven't even beaten the game. Why? Becuase people tell them that they need it. They say that's it's the "UBER GREAT3ST ARMO(_)R IN DA GAMEZOR" and such.

I've heard MANY comments that you "Can't get to Droknar's Forge untill way after you beat the game".

I only ran my level 7 E/me to Droknar's Forge becuase I didn't want to have to listen to all that terrible storyline again. But atleast play it through once!

To make matters worse, it is mostly a PvE guild, where of I and another are the only ones to have beaten the game out of 18 members. I beat the game and got to level 20 in 5-7 days; it's not very hard, it's just annoying.

But like I said, most of them want to be ran becuase they think that's the only way to get there. One person was shocked when I told them that I had only been ran there on my E/me "You don't have the armor?!?!" they said in suprise.

Otherwise, why do people want to be ran after they beat the game? To "skip the balogna". Becuase it's fun. They want a low level that wouln't die to charr in 5 seconds. They want to dominate the ascalon areana with great spells and armor.

I agree with your reasons but I think that a lot of people want to run because they don't know how to advance in the game. I have been in Ascalon seeing people shouting, "will pay [pick amount] to be run to [name place]. I always say, just do the mission and get there for free. I cannot tell you how many times people say.....mission? How do I do that, where are they.....etc. So a lot of it is just ignorance.

do I hear a GOLD SINK!
That could be a fun addition. Challenge your build and your abilites to see how fast you can make it to Camo Rankor.
Pay entry fee and if you complete the run in under the current goal, you win a prize or x amount of gold back.

back to the OT.
I don't particullary care for Draknor forge runs since it is open for scamming, newer people skipping the game in order to feel Uber, which results in others feeling they are being ganked in the low level arenas, or the newer people running around forge trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
Still, I am way into the game, I'm not losing money, I'm not out to hurt others abiltiy to enjoy the game, and therefore, this decision is up to the individual players on what they want to do.

Now if Anet will only close off the selling of Althea's ashes exploit.
