Monk Doppleganger =(

hey everyone im new here

but i was just wondering how to beat the doppleganger at the mesa at augury rock where u ascend with a monk. my char is a lvl 20 Mo/Me and i specialize in healing and protection. can anyone give me any hints?? they are much appreciated

Hints? Nah, Ill give you a fool proof method. Pump your domination up as high as you can get it. Bring Backfire, Empathy and Chaos Storm. Also bring a bunch of 'crap' enchants that wont help you, and you wont cast.

Start the fight by casting backfire right away, followed by empathy. Move into melee range of the doppleganger (so he uses axe vs bow). Wait until your backfire leaves, cast chaos storm if he isnt dead yet. Whenever I use this set up, he normally dies in about 14 seconds, so I usually dont get the chaos storm off. There have been a few wierd times where he doesnt cast much though, and chaos storm was used to end the fight.

Dont attack him, you will have empathy on you. Dont bring any heals with, you dont need them.

You really need some offensive skills to beat the guy. A pure healing/protection monk will have some trouble as you noticed.

i made a monk/ranger and the mirror is offly easy lol
i brought in my bar wer all spirits xcept 1 space which was power shot lol
before u go in battle cast all the spirits u can (prefer long castings)
and after u cast it lol he casts it so LONG and u just keep attacking lol :PP

Aaaaagh's method works. Backfire, Empathy and go stand by him. I also had Chaos Storm, but never used it. It stayed on the last finger too.

The monk method is Zealot's Fire and Divine Boon spamming, but since you're secondary mesmer, the method already suggested will work good as well.

If you feel you absolutely cannot go in with no heals whatsoever, bring healing breeze. He won't use it, but you will.

As a monk i used Balt. Aura, bane signet, banish and Symbol of Wrath, placed myself close to him at the beginning for symbol
kept signet til both symbol and aura r cast to delay his actions

My secondary class was Necro, so i took 4 "max hp % spells" as mesmer, i d say chaos storm
I kicked his butt in less than 8 seconds i cast only one of each spell

Healing Breeze and Retribution are all you need, put nothing else on your bar.

Points in Healing and Smiting.

The other ways work too im sure, and maybe faster, but the above is cut and dry, stand there and keep healing breeze on yourself for a real yawner.
