What's your take if we added a random grouping button in HOH?

Not sure what you guys think but would most of you guys mind if there was a Random grouping button in the HOH? Just like the random arenas. The group probably won't be good like the organized teams out there but there's some people like me who doesn't really care about rank but would like to group up for a quick large scale pvp just for the hell of it. It's more interesting than 4 vs 4 arenas, you basically setup how you think you can best help the team and jump right in. I really hate to spam for like 30-60mins looking for groups just for one fight cause i'm not in a pvp guild, I mostly pve but do enjoy a good flogging in the arenas now and then. What do you guys think of that?

After reading the Index I found this, and I must /agree! I enjoy playing tombs from time to time, but having to spend a terrible amount of time to find a PuG is just insane. I'm all for a random grouping feature! Hopefully something like this will catch the devs attention and get coded

Agreed. I've never really put much effort into trying to find a group for Tombs, and that is the primary reason I haven't played it more than once or twice (my own guild is really way too small for Tombs and most in it are PvE)

However, I would love to be able to play it, and I hate trying to find a group that will actually accept people into it. People are very picky with their PvP groups when they choose them. I can appreciate that, but we need a random grouping button. Maybe even the ability to have a small group and then randomly join another group with your whole group.

That will make the first round for an organized team insanly easy

it's just that this random team has really no chance 90% of the time... Only if the team is balanced there is a little chance to win the first round... Come on, most of the time the team will fail in the PvE round... Nearly no monk will use this random feature - because he knows he can get into a good group...

I think that this is a wonderful idea. I've only played the HoH heros once, and that was only because i got invited by a randomly chosen group of 2 warriors & 2 rangers and the rest were henches, one ranger (I was the other) droped out after the first round so we ended up having 5 henches, and well I have 2 fame now. Even the most mismatched groups can come together and win a couple times in the HoH. No one wants an r/e like me so I really don't even both with anything that requires me to find a team. Normally i just get henches and go on my own. My guild is also to small and i am the only level 20 with any elite skills and suff for now.

Maybe make a seperate tournament for the random groups, and downgrade the reward a little bit, I think there was about something like this a while ago, but I didn't get to read it.

This is really really dangerous, and you can't hope to expect to get very far when there's a strong possibility of getting a horrible team distribution based off the percentage of people who play x class, unless somehow, the system was designed to seed players into roughly balanced teams (IE, ones with a minimum of two monks, and hopefully almost certainly 3)

I can't say it would be for this. You'd likely be spending a lot of team being defeated, which would frustrate people.

I wasn't expecting to take the HOH but hey at least i had fun trying with like minded others who don't want to waste 30 minutes just to enter a 15 minute fight. Monk or no monk i'll be having fun. At least we can give them a little more challange than 1 person with 4 henchies, depending on the random group you get but hey if i lose no biggie. And if i was serious on winning i'd join a pvp guild and work my butt off. But no time for that which is why i'd like a random grouping button. Some monks might actually try this to see how chaotic or fun this can get, who knows. But I hope it's not too hard to implement since it'll probably be the same grouping code features in the 4 vs 4 arenas. Which is good cause then Anet might just do it. Some might say to us to go do lion's arch arenas but it's no where as fun as 6 teams of 8 going all out. You never know we might end up fighting other 8 player random teams by chance since all everyone does in HOH is stand around, some might just get bored and press the pretty "random grouping" button!

I really hope that the random system would be 100% different than the Competition Arena, because i highly doubt that system is 100% random. I've been in at least 3 groups with all rangers. And with my N/W I've been in a group with 3 monks. One person left so we got a W/Mo, then he left and we got another monk. It was fun to crush people in Team Arenas with a random group.

Anyway, I hope they balance out the groups, or let you have some imput on group requirements. Such as less than 3 warriors, at least 2 monks, etc.

No!!!! GOD NO!!!! PLEASE NO!!! That would ruin Hall of Heroes for many. having to form RANDOM parties to play and not playing with your own parties is monumentally wrong. I personally avoid the non team arenas plainly for this reason. because I want to play with people I can communicate with on Teamspeak, not with a bunch of random idiots. this will destroy PvP for me completely...

You don't have to get into a random group....

This would be a great feature for the 'casual gamer'.

I've got a better idea, make a new arena that's like Tombs except random teams only!

i also hate waiting 30+ minutes, more if we have to get everyone on TS or Vent, just to get slaughtered by 2 korea teams versus my american team

if we had a random team only arena for Tombs then we'll never be able to fight the best of the best. i prefer it in the same as everyone else cause there might not be that many people that want random but some, i don't want this to end up like the arena's in the international districts. It's more fun when you fight the big boys and by chance you win, then the sigil would be that much sweeter.

As for the people hating to join random groups, you aren't forced to press that random group button you can still join your guild and give us a challenge.

I want this. Fighting the best of the best? You might be surprised.

I've been on lots of random teams that have crushed teams in the teams arena (after 10 wins in random). One croup i had went for 28 before dieing. Random formed teams don't always suck, plus the goast on the stairs should weed out most the really badly formed teams.

Yeah, random teams will prolly most likely get owned, however, even I (Who is in a mojorly pvp guild) would use this feature simply because it would be quick and easy.

Having an option to form a team or enter mission button to get in on a random team would be fun if you can't get into a party.

I've waited a long time (not an air spike mage) to get in and the pugs I do usually get in are pretty much straglers that also have troulbe and it's pretty much random pug group. Random teams over an organized team may get killed off quickly but at least I don't wait 30 min to get killed off . No anet may not consider it because with lot more random teams means organized teams will get a lot more faction points but that in itself may motivated to form your own non-random team.

No one will ever take my W/R on a Tombs team, even thought I have TS/Vent, and I feel like I'm missing out on a significant portion of the game. I would love a "random tournament". The arenas really get boring after a while, and this idea would really incourage me to PvP a lot more. Plus it would encourage a lot of other casual players to get involved, and isn't Guild Wars supposed to be about accessibility?
