Hey guys, I'm posting here to seek advice on my Monk's Healing/Protection Hybrid build. Anyways here's the specs:

Alesia On Fire

Healing: 12+1
Divine Favor: 11+1
Protection 8+1

Yes I haven't put any Superior or Major runes on yet because I am still undecided on what should get the higher runes.

Before anyone reads through the list, be aware that there are NO elites listed in my build so far. I will obviously put in an elite skill as soon as possible, so feel free to recommend an elite.

1. Mend Ailment
2. Orison of Healing
3. Healing Breeze
4. Divine Boon
5. Healing Seed
6. Reversal of Fortune
7. Protective Spirit
8. Resurrect/Rebirth

Once again, I'll repeat myself by saying that there isn't an elite skill in this build, so feel free to reccomend an elite.

Post feedback and comments on this build please.

Boon healers need a way to replenish energy, otherwise they run low on mana. I therefore recomend that you either drop prot and take blood for Offering of Blood {E} or ditch boon. If you choose to ditch boon then you can add in word of healing, healing hands, or spell breaker. (all of which are elite)

I run a pure Boon healer, and Offering of Blood is absolutely necessary for my build. I've found that you can be MUCH more effective to a group if you either specialize as a healer or protector (less points spread out).

That being said, we need more prot. monks out there. But always keep in mind that you should have some sort of energy regen. attribute with ya.

Take Offering of Blood (hit this once you get to about 25 energy and whenever you can after that) and Signet of Devotion (use this on someone who'd just be overhealed by a Boon-affected spell; or use it if you're out of energy) for energy management purposes. I'd also suggest Remove Hex. Pick either Healing or Protection, since you'll need Blood Magic.

Here's a sample build.

12+2 Divine Favor
10+1 Protection Prayers
8 Blood Magic
or
11+4 Divine Favor
10+1 Protection Prayers
10 Blood Magic
or something else. Emphasize Divine Favor, then Protection Prayers, then Blood Magic.

Reversal of Fortune
Mend Ailment
Protective Spirit
Signet of Devotion
Remove Hex
Rebirth(pve)/Resurrect(pvp)
Divine Boon
Offering of Blood {E}

If you want a Healing build, then check out the Fi Boon Healer premade. It's not what I'd do, but it's still a solid build.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah. I've never played a Primary or a Secondary Necro so I was unaware of Offering of Blood. That skill definitely seems like it would make the energy management smooth. So I'll go do The Necromancer's Path and capture Offering of Blood.

I really like your layout, theclam. I think I'll make my build somewhat similar to your setup.

At first, I was considering Peace and Harmony. But now that I'm aware of Offering of Blood, and being a monk. A 10% sacrifice and 5 energy for 20+ energy is a great deal.

Thanks for the help.

Well I redesigned this build and went for healing. I feel it's really missing something, but thanks for Offering of Blood, I have yet to run into an energy crisis.

Work your magic again and help fill in the missing gap that I feel there is in this build.

1. Remove Hex
2. Orison of Healing
3. Healing Breeze
4. Divine Boon
5. Healing Seed
6. Heal Other
7. Offering of Blood (E)
8. Resurrect

Perhaps Healing Touch would be a good substitute for one of these skills. Or maybe I should take advantage of the Necro's Blood Magic becuase I have it at 10 right now. With Divine Favor at 10+4 and Healing at 11+1

The thing is, with Divine Boon, you really don't need Healing Breeze or Heal Other. A Boon build works best when using lots of cheap, spammable spells. I'd replace Healing Breeze with Vigorous Spirit and Heal Other with either Signet of Devotion (in the later missions and PvP, you'll want the energy conservation that this skill provides; plus, when someone's only down 50-75 health, you won't have to use energy and overheal) or Mend Ailment (you don't have to have Protection to use it effectively).

I run boon with channeling and sometimes peace and harmony. I don't like offering of blood due to the life sacrifice. IMO in the heat of combat hitting offering of blood can get you killed, while channeling and p&h work all the time and lasts for a fairly long time.

If you run a boon healer, a necro with blood ritual will become your friend.

If you run a boon healer, a necro with blood ritual will become your friend. The problem with Peace and Harmony is that it takes about 45 seconds to gain the mana that you would from a single casting of Offering of Blood. The problem with Channeling is that you have to have people close to you for it to work.

One thing I didn't like about Signet of Devotion, was the 2 second cooldown and I don't believe Divine Boon and Favor kicked in. Maybe I didn't have the Boon enchantment when I casted it, However, I couldn't agree more on Vigorous Spirit replacing Heal Other. Combined with healing seed, it really makes for a decent amount of healing. I figured Mend Ailment would look good in this build once again, considering Divine Boon and Divine Favor both make up for about 90-100 in healing. If I were to replace something for Mend Ailment though, I think I'd go with Signet of Devotion.

Also, are there any Necro Blood Magic skills that I should look into?
