PvE /status like PvP /rank
Mulatto
it seems to me people are more encourge to play PvP then PvE, u use to play PvE to unlock for your PvP character but now u can use factions for that and PvP. I'm just suggesting that there be something so people know how much XP u have or how far u made it in the game. PvP people can show rank and call a wolf or something. why cant PvE people call a drake or something when they beat the Lich king or get 1 Million XP. it would help in picking people up for Underworld and encourge people to see the story line to the last mission thus far. would be nice to buy cool looking armor when u reach so much XP or something. like buying unlocked skills with your factions.
agree or disagee?

that would be great for trying to find a group for UW or FoW. the game could count things like a person's account's total XP, missions completed, etc, so that you could have an idea of how much experience the person has before grouping with them. good idea that i'd love to see implemented, especially since Anet has said that they are going to improve the current awkward "lfg" system.
Malchiel
not needed.
So what... you want to show off how long you've been farming? I definitely don't see the need for a pve /rank. but buying stuff with your xp sounds wonderful.

I like the idea, but i have to admit, malchiel is correct.
nechronius
If there is any recognition that needs to be given for PvE, it would probably suffice to put an asterisk at the end of a name maybe to indicate that every mission is complete or at least that hell's precipice was completed.
Sereng Amaranth
every time you totally clear UW, you get Grenth Faction, clear Fissure and you get, um, the other faction, PvP would still give you Balthazar faction
PieXags
I kinda like this idea, people get rank emotes to show off "We spend all our time in the tombs"...why can't we say have an emote that says something like "We've unlocked all the skills with 5 professions on this character" or something like that?
Mulatto
I only came up with the Idea to encourage PvE people to keep playing. once u beat all the mission the only thing there is, is Fissure or UW. it will help the Role play people Role play. And also encourage them to keep playing with thier favorite RP character. its just a cosmetic that shows how much u know about PvE or what challenges u faced . we all know PvE and PvP are different and different specs and just as challenging. it will help with PUGs in ToA and it no threat to PvP people. its not a better weapon or better skills, just cosmetic.
Fantus
I agree - having some PvE status symbols would be nice. But on the other hand, in a way I already have, because as far as I know PvP toons can't buy 15k armor and thus will look crappy all their soldier lives.
Silmor
I wouldn't mind a PvE status indication, but only for a fully unlocked account, meaning all quests/missions/bonuses completed, all skills/upgrades/runes unlocked (although a mechanism for PvP, this can still be considered a PvE achievement for most), all maps visited, etc.
I don't believe a full unlock automatically means you're any good at the game, still, but at least it requires more dedication and diversity than just finishing the game with one character or farming one spot over and over.

A PvP player can unlock stuff from their account too. Would be pointless to pick up a PvP player to go to Underworld because like I said before PvP and PvE are both different. If were to unlock all the skills with 1 RPG character then that would be different. at 20k xp for a skill point after lvl 20, that is a pretty high achievement maybe too high. I havent counted all the spells or anything but I'm estimating over 2 mill in experience just to unlock most of them. but in the end it comes down to XP and every RP player that has changed his 2nd profession know the best way to get xp is go to Fissure or UW.
as for farming it takes just as long to get 20k XP as it does to 2k factions. People say that this game is suppose to be Grind less. but no matter how u look at it XP or Factions there is grind. Hard work = grind and Grind = farming. People "Farm" Factions alll the time. they Fixed the drops so u cant farm any more for weapons and stuff. yet if PvP players can Farm factions to unlock things U would hardly ever find in PvE. I personally have unlocked a sup vigor and plenty of other rare runes from farming factions.
XP is the key here. it something that PvP dont get and PvE player play for. if they didnt they wouldnt of introduced the XP scrolls which are worthless anyways. RP people like to play as 1 character so they can get in to that character and Role Play
in the end my point is PvP can unlock everything also get fame and rank. but PvE people are getting short changed if it was considered to be and unlock account.

we really don't need anything to show off....there is no use for this "feature" other than to show people how UBER you are....useless.

I agree completly. the only reason people want this is so they can show how uber leet they are.
useless and worthless
Mulatto
I personally want it so I can pick up good people for groups. the same reason PvP people use /rank. I dont see what the problem with it is. its only cosmetic
Rellok
What I think would be nice would be some way to display if you are a good teammate or not. Some sort of rating system for your teammates to use for you. The problem is that it would be royally abused. It would be nice to come up with a way to limit abuse and implement something like that. This way you could have some idea of a teammates ability before signing on.

if by "good" you mean people that have wasted the most time doing FoW/UW runs...then this would make sense.
however this game is based on skill....not whether or not you have the time to grind away a million exp.

If your idea is to try and make it easier to form productive groups, this idea will not help you. Just because I was bored or determined enough to put in all the time to unlock everything does not mean I'm a good player or teammate. I could've used nothing but henchies, or freeloaded my way through missions and zones. It just means I'm tenacious and have no life.

Grinding to 5 billion XP shouldn't mean anything in this game. I am working towards a total unlock because that's MY goal, and I absolutely love this game's PvE. I don't expect other people to stop and admire my 00ber l33tness just because I did it.

NO ONE BRAGS ABOUT THERE 1337NESS. are you dumb? No one runs around going. "I HAVE WOLF RANK AND YOU DONT OWNED!!!!"
That's just a lame excuse you guys give because you want to play 1 hour a day and still have the same stuff people like me who play 10 + hours a day have.
Rank doesn't make you BETTER. it only shows that you have something extra.

Yeah, lets discriminate against casual gamers. Create a game which has a PvP side that requires skill and a level of competition, hey, casual can't compete because they don't have the time to put the effort in. Lets make the game easy for casual gamers, give them an I win button to make everyone happy.
Seriously, there is nothing wrong with this idea. As I said before, maybe get 1m exp and get a few quests from the gods and when you complete one line, you get to choose your faction and you get an aura which you could toggle or something that varies from god to god.
I obviously don't want ArenaNet to waste their time as this is obviously a low priority change. But why not implement something like this? Maybe the people who are against it are too insecure and don't want something implemented that they'll never be able to obtain as well as others. Reality check, if you're casual, don't expect to be uber.

I COULDN'T OF SAID IT BETTER THAN MYSELF.
There should be some things only some people can obtain.
IT doesn't make you any better so they cant complain about god like weapons
but LOOKS OF ITEMS should be only something SOME can get.

You say this isn't about showing how "l33t" you are, then you turn right around and say "it shows that you have something extra". Ok... why else would you want to have this "something extra" if you didn't want people to see and recognize it? Your position itself is very inconsistent sir.

exactly, thats what I'm trying to say, and everything comes with practice. UW and FoW are hard, very hard. the more u do it the better u get at it. that comes with any thing. I can understand if it was a better weapon or better stuff, But its not.

am I the only one who sees it like that?
I just cant believe PvP people have a problem with this. it seems to me your Encouraged to play PvP with fame and rank. people havent even been to Hell's precipice or even know where it is at.
I gave some good reasons why this should implemented. if u disagree I can respect that, but plz show me a better way in PvE to pick up a good player. or a way that they can show me that yes they have been farming alot with people or henchies and that shows me that they know how to "lure", they know what the Aggro Bubble is and they been to places before like Fow or UW.
come up with a support for your argument other than "its no fair because I dont play PvE this much and I want to summon a drake." and I will gladly agree with it.
Personally the " lvl 20 LFG" doesnt work
Mulatto
I really dont like the fact that the only defense that people come up with is go play another game. I'm pretty sure that ArenaNet wants people to play and Wants PvE people to keep on playing. And even though it a show off in a way it will help people work towards a goal in the game other than make their PvP guy better. U basically took that way in PvE with the faction Patch. Which I dont mind but now the Cities are getting empty and u cant find anybody in Hell's Precipice.
If u dont like this Idea, maybe come up with a better Idea to keep people playing the game in PvE and not getting bored of it. Instead of just telling them to go play another game.

WHiel the devs do that I hope they bring back rank sticks which are different for every rank.
Sholtar
This is a week old but I'm bringing it back up to say that I think this could be a great idea, but it shouldn't be based on XP. I've always thought that it was kind of lame that after beating Hell's Precipice you were no different than before, and that could be coupled with this idea. While people say that you can beat the game without any skill if you get in good groups, and this is true, the majority of people that beat the game know how it works. So, being able to show that you finished the game would be highly beneficial. To those of you saying that this would only be useful for showing off how "1337" you are, what do you think /rank accomplishes? They would both be based on the same concept, but /status, or whatever the command would be, would help people show that they had experience on the PvE side of things, which would be useful for picking Fissure/UW groups, etc. I don't think having it depend on XP is a good idea, because you can get a lot of XP without knowing anything about how to play the game, but having an emote for having finished the game seems like a great idea to me.
