I was wondering what the the perfect,Smiting rod would be. Ive been playing for abought 2 months now and havnt seen much info abought rods. I currently have a Gold max damage smitting rod +5 energy while enchanted, I payed 3 k for. Whats the best one handed weapon for a monk?

And what is the prefect off hand item % for skill regen/casting speed?

BTW whats max energy mod for staffs, and max ehnchanting wrap?

Check collector's items the 12/20/20 offhand's are most commonly used an arguably the best in terms of price and availability, but perf on focus item is up to 10% (for all skills) and 20% (on a specific attribute, say Divine favor)
there are also collector smite rods as well with 20% regen/max dmge
and there is a sword with +5 energy only which you can add mods to (say fortitude, shelter/warding/defense, or enchanting) you can craft this in henge of denravi i think for 2k and some misc crafting items.

there is no collector smite offhand, so as a smite monk, your only choice is the smite staff. Of course you can try to find a gold item combo, but what is the chance you can beat the collector item?

IMHO id still use the collector's --im sure you wont be all pure smite and they do have 12 eng and recharge/FC on healing/DF isnt bad either. As i said b4 im pretty sure there is a smite rod collectors with 20% something as well

There is a20% Smite Rod and a a 20/20 Smite Staff. Personally I like the rod and off had 20/20 Healing. Nice with Zealots Fire and Rev. Spamming

As a solo smite monk (which means you won't be using a raven staff or ghost staff for looks), you should be using a collector smite staff, period.

The single most important reason is the staff wrapping of enchanting. With a 15%+ enchanting wrap, you can increase the duration of 10s spells to 12s. To a smite monk, that means Healing hands/Mark of Protection and Balthzar's Aura.

Then you can think about zealot fire, healing breeze, symbol of wrath, protective spirit and all sorts of enchanting spells. You can't find another example of such huge benefits from upgrade. I would be very willing to sacrifice 100HP to get another 20%.
