I've seen far less go for far more. When you figure how armor works, I like the +5 Defense more than the 5/1 vampiric. I hate high prices, but I'm thinking 25k might be ripping you off. I saw a storm bow with +4 Defense go for over 60k. EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION: It had some other enchantment and mods, but I forget what.

I've been collecting mods for use in bows for my ranger, once I find some bows I like.

I've been using Ascalons until I find the bows I'm looking for.

Anyway, I have collected three +5 Defense mods. My usual deal is I collect mods and sell, then rinse and repeat, and gradually work towards a collection of mods that I am looking for. I can tell you that no one is interested in buying the Defense mods - everyone wants the HP mods - even when I have perfect Defense and +29 HP Bow Grips.
