Doom Brigade

It's a very excellent production in that it showed aspects other than the usual hack 'n' slash that some of the other gameplay movies featured.

You two did an awesome job!! I have watched the video many times and shown it to many friends. Even those who aren't gamers thought it was beautiful!

The Only Thing wrong with it....is that it makes it so much harder for me to wait for the full release on the 27th

Question - the moves you did during your "tai chai" sequences were so smooth - how did you do that?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here but... the whole "tai chi" (Atleast it's spelt like that in swedish I belive :P) moves are done by a simple command /dance ... It is the dance of the monk, as every profession/gender has a different dance..

And uhm.. it was recorded so smooth cause well, I have a quite good computer, and I only used 1024 res when I recorded the actual movie..

If this didn't anwser your questions, please just type out what you mean..

Ah - I guess I have never seen a monk dance before. It's just that you seem to have a lot of variety in your movements. I thought that perhaps that there was some sort of macro where you could chain several emotes together to form a sequence. My mesmer just did a plain and simple jig...

and ya, i believe (that's how we spell it in English ) that you are correct on the spelling of tai chi!

Time to repeat what has been said 100x before me.

ArenaNet should have payed you for making that. Single handedly, you have probably convinced a good 50 people to get GW and if they were to get this on the main site, I am sure that your video will attract plenty more. Very well done my friend...very well done.

By the way, a little off topic. My friend is the Swedish Consul's son (here in America)

Just so you know, the handstand sequence was the Monk /flex command. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what a friend of mine who played a monk said it was. My only real problem with the graphics in the game, which you can see clearly in this video, is the lack of any sort of splash or ripple effect when you run in water. This is one thing, that for some reason, really bothers me.

Someone else pipes up about it. I had that issue too. Although the graphics are really well done, after seeing the water effects on PS2 Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2, nothing seems to compare. And this just makes the water completely flat, which is kinda disappointing.

yeah there was a /flex command in there. I found it from just fooling around with commands and it looked cool.
There's some /beg, /point and /laugh in there as well. Try to find them all!

And for that lack of ripple effect, yeah that is kinda sad. The only effect that was in last BWE was a minor ripple effect when you ran in the water. The water looks so good and no animation, sad.

*adds it to one of his top feedback posts* Thank you. I wonder how much I would've earnt if I got a dollar or so for each "converted" person.. hmm..

In all fairness tho, I appreciate everyone's responses... even those who complain about certain things... Just let's me know what has to be done BETTER the next time... Problem is now that, if I make another movie, I have to top this one...

I'm already planning one as we speak mind you.. Currently I'm just looking for fitting music.. This one will most likely only show what happened after the Charr came.. Instead of pre-ascalon... So you can expect a little more action, maybe a lot more.. 8 PvE fighting..

We'll see.. As said, I'm in the hunt for fitting music.. I have one that I might consider, but i'm not 100% sure as of yet.. Till next time, ta ta..

Two thumbs up.

I was showing my in-laws (and my wife for that matter) movies from the original page after I showed them yours and they were like "Is that it?"

Your little movie is far better than any of the "official" ones

I'm not sure, but I thought I remembered there being more water effects than what is seen in the video. They may have had the video settings set lower for their computer in order to smooth out game play. I have my settings maxed out, but will have to wait to see if I remember correctly.

Everything was maxed out, though only 1024 res ingame. I belive that there might be splashes and what not on your OWN player, but not others.

Great movie, way better than the ones on the official Guild Wars site. The concept was executed very well. The only thing that I thought needed improvement was the quality and the occasional camera wo/man suddenly moving. But the concept was what really counted, got me even more riled up for the 27th & 28th + maybe making a similar build :P
