All W/Mos who look to solo read this. Even W/?
UberRusty
Ever since posting up my old sword W/Mo solo build I've been getting quite a few PMs, so... not to sound rude but, instead of repeating myself and answering the same questions, I've decided to post a little something.
Keep in mind this POST will be W/Mo oriented.
First up, is your location. If you're going to start solo and farm, you SHOULD be looking to fight melee based monsters, or anything that doesn't have remove enchantments and the like, or anything that blinds you repeatedly. If you're in an area where there's one or two creatures in each mob that blind/strip enchantment, then you should bring condition removal and a useful low-energy recastable enchant such as Vigorous Spirit!
So, here are the W/Mo builds that I have "written" so far. To those that want their builds to remain a secret, give me a PM and I'll remove it. But if you want the build I posted YOU to remain a secret, I'm afraid that's a nay. I feel that everyone should be able to benefit from these builds. Besides, I don't spew out everything. n_n Everyone has their own secrets.
First is the original build that I posted:

First is the original build that I posted:
Quote:
2. Sever Artery
3. Gash
4. Final Thrust
5. Healing Breeze
6. Vigorous Spirit
7. Mending
8. Balzathar's Spirit.
With this build I can tank around 5 level 20 – 30s with ease, and do a LOT of damage. Ease as in without losing 20% of my hp. If you don’t believe me, I’ll show you one day when I’m not too busy soloing. =P
Anyway, first cast Mending and Balthazar’s Spirit. Mending gives you 6hp/sec heal constantly. Then cast Vigorous Spirit. That means 10 hp per attack/spell cast. 30 seconds duration means you can constantly cast it. You don’t even have to hit. You just attack and that little 10 will pop into your red bar. With Hundred Blades, that means a small mob of 3 monsters will give you a 10 x 6 heal, 2x damage to each monster, 6 adrenaline in ONE attack for just a measly 5 energy. That means you have Sever Artery ready, and in 2 hits you’ll have Gash ready, and then a few more and it is Final Thrust. Remember, attack skills give you adrenaline gain too. =)
Bathazar’s Spirit means you gain at least 1 energy and a bit of adrenaline everytime you get hit. Since you’re soloing that means practically an unlimited stream of energy, and therefore that means Healing Breeze constantly, and therefore it means 10 arrows of health regen constantly, which means *gasps for air*, 20 hp regen per second. Pretty hard to die.
Of course, you’re not invincible. This IS Guild Wars afterall. Your main weakness is Break Enchantment spells. However, since a monster usually casts Break Enhancement only once, it will hit your Vigorous Spirit since it was your most current enhancement. Therefore, recast and happily slice your way through the crowd.
Sword attack speed = 1.33 seconds In 1.33 seconds, you have 9hp from mending, and another 10 hp from a normal sword attack. If you have Healing Breeze on, that means 30 hp from Healing Breeze + Mending, and another 10 hp from attack. That’s 40hp per every 1.33 seconds basically. Couple that if your 80 defence armor, you ARE going to be hard to kill.

I'm having some difficulties in getting a good build for UW. The Aataxe were hitting me for the usual 190hp, and I can't get enough hp's back on to save my life.(I also know I'm only 1 of 7 in the group) and the outcome has to do with how well they play their cards as well.I'm not doing any soloing with this character, just mostly UW, which would translate to working anywhere else in the game.
I have studied the build you and UberRusty colaborated on.
My stats:
-10 Healing Prayers
-12 Strength
-12 Axe
-Mend--Vig.Spirit--Rebirth
Cyclone--Eviscerate--Beserker Stance
I noticed on your build, it included---Healing Breeze&Balzathar's Spirit, which are NOT Healing Prayers. Are you guys using the 2 above without skill points?
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be more than happy to let you know how your idea(s) workout,
Thanks Again,
So without further ado, here's the skillset that I use for UW. (I haven't UW'd in ages, mostly PvP now)
1. Hundred Blades/Frenzy
2. Sever Artery
3. Gash
4. Final Thrust
5. Healing Breeze
6. Vigorous Spirit
7. Mending
8. Your choice/Healing Hands
This is the thing, you need to get a good Healer/Protection Monk to put up Protective Spirit or heal you when your health is low.
The skillset above is what I use at the moment. Healing Breeze IS Healing based, maybe your eyes confused itself. :P
_________
If you're looking for a more damaging Axe build, here's one I made.
1. Frenzy
2. Penetrating Blow
3. Cleave
4. Dismember
5. Executioner's Strike
6. For Great Justice!
7. Mending
8. Healing Breeze
The thing with these two builds is that if you're not getting hit, then Frenzy. If you ARE getting hit, stop Frenzy ASAP, since you take double damage and those UW creatures hit extremely hard. But for the sword build above (Which I use), I never had any problems with it.
Quote:
My build when finished:
12 axe
8 strength
8 tactics
10 healing
cyclone axe, dismember, executioners, axe rake or axe twist, bonetti's defence, healing breeze, victory is mine, healing signet.
I am wondering where you would farm (melee targets)and if you would care to critique this build to well a finished product? Use this instead. =)
1. Cyclone Axe
2. Axe Skill (Penetrating Blow is good)
3. Axe Skill (Cleave is good)
4. Axe Skill (Executioner's Strike)
5. Healing Breeze
6. Vigorous Spirit
7. Mending
8. Balzathar's Spirit
10 Healing
10 Strength
10 Axe Mastery
Notes: Balzathar's Spirit, Mending, Vigorous Spirit always. As with the sword build, you have practically infinite energy. Keep Cyclone Axing and then use your aldrenile skills in between the Cyclone recharge. Vigorous Spirit works even better here. Touch of Healing Breeze here and there when you need it.
Have fun!

Damn, you got my hopes up there.
Hey, I was just a bit curious after reading you skills and stats allocations. Do you use the Ascalon set for the reduced damage or Gladiator's for the +energy? Also, are the 10's in each stat base or did you use runes and the helmet bonus? If not, what one's would you suggest? I am looking for a nice build that can go through the game easily and I really liked yours. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it. -Red1086 Hmmm I can't believe I've had so many PMs on this. I think I'm going to post up a thread so I don't have to repeat myself and EVERYONE benefits from each other's knowledge. But to be fair I shall answer your question! I use all Glads apart from the boots. Knights "Reduce damage" only applies once, (-2 dmg), so no point of getting a full Knight set. I hope this have cleared up some things for you. Knights = Ascalon in stats I think. These are just some of the many PMs I have recieved, but this basically IS what my answers have been. :P If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them and I'll try my best to answer them. If you have anything to contribute, critisize and whatnot, feel free to do that too. If you wish to flame me, make it entertaining. Yukito Kunisaki
I'll try to help this out with W/N input.
This build can solo in the same places mentioned, however, since it doesn't run enchantments, you can use it in more places. W/N Blood Magic types don't farm. They just don't. If you think you can, bring your build to the southwest dunes of Augury Rock and try to take down 7 [yes seven] Desert Griphons. If you can do that, then you've proven me wrong. Here it is: my Curses high efficiency W/N build strength: 7+1 Axe: 10+2 Tactics: 9+1 Curses: 10 leftover: 2 Cyclone Axe Dismember Axe Rake Bonetti's Defense Victory is Mine! {E} Enfeebling Blood Mark of Pain Plague Touch or etc. [I used to use plague touch but enemies where I farm don't condition me. Shadow of Fear can help big time if your energy is up to the challenge] As you can see, ViM and Enfeebling Blood recycle within each other's duration so you can keep all the enemies weak and feed off their weakness indefinitely. The more enemies you have on you, the better Victory is Mine will be when you execute Enfeebling Blood. The bigger the mob, the higher your efficiency. Mark of Pain and Bonetti's Defense is a beautiful mob killer. No need to use a skill to smash the entire mob. Racthoh
When I used to farm outside of Port Sledge, here is what I used:
12 + 4 Tactics 12 + 3 Sword 3 + 1 Strength Full Dragon or Plate, Ascalon Helm, Superior Vigor/Absorption/Sword/Tactic, minor strength. Skills Gladiator's Defense (e) Riposte Deadly Riposte Defensive Stance Galgarath Slash Bonetti's Defense Healing Signet Pure Strike Weapon - Shocking Long Sword of Shelter (Lightning damage, +7AL vs. Phys, Damage +15% while in stance) Shield - +45 Health/-2 Damage while in stance. Both are collector's items in Snake Dance, sword I put on the shocking and shelter naturally. With this, I could handle mobs of at least 10 Crawl and Crawl Ulodyte. The skill order is quite simple. Start with Gladiator's, and Riposte/Deadly Riposte/Pure Strike whenever you feel like it. Once Gladiator's finishes, throw up Shield stance, repeat skills. Once it ends, throw Gladiator's up once again. Now, you'll have to Bonetti's twice before Gladiator's refills again. Always make sure you have 5 energy for your stances. Before you go into the Bonetti's, make sure you health is near max to avoid any possibility of death. Don't use any skills while Bonetti's is up or you mill meet certain doom. I deal about 30+ damage with normal attacks, criticals over 50. Pure Strike and Galgarath hit for 80+. Riposte deals 42, Deadly Riposte strike for 32 and bleeds them for 28 (I believe). Gladiator's blocks dealing 37 each time. Almost needless to say, don't even bother attacking the Grawl and go right for the Ulodyte. They'll kill themselves just by attacking you. Stances can't be interrupted when doing them, and there is few ways to remove them thus the bonuses from the sword and shield are always in effect. I also used this in the UW when I first attempted to solo... I could drop ataxes one at a time if they didn't hit me while I was using healing signet. Otherwise, 250 damage would hit hard. You can also survive smites for quite some time while your nuker deals with them. powdahound
Helpful thread. Thanks.

I generally dont farm anymore. However, it seems I am always short on refund points. So I kill hydras outside of Augury's Rock. I can tank up to 4 at once and here are my skillsets:
11 Axe + 1 10 Tactics + 2 10 Healing 1 Strength + 1 Skills: Cyclone Axe Penetrating Blow Dismember "Watch Yourself!" Balanced Stance Gladiator's Defense (E) Live Vicariously Vigorus Spirit I use Max damage, 12%>50% +4 defense, zealous axe -2 when enchanted shield Full gladiator (except tactician's helm and knight's boot) I really like Live Vicariously + Vigorous Spirit + Cyclone axe combo. I can heal 80 points every 5 seconds. Balance stance is a must unless you want to get knocked down constantly at the start of the battle. I turn on watch yourself + balanced stance at the beginning of the battle and all the nukes deal less than 40 damage to me. Then I switch on gladiator's defense + vigorous spirit and maintain watch yourself! on constantly. I UberRusty
WOW I'm still seeing the same topics asking the same questions poppin up again and again... people should really learn to use common sense.

I don't know how people find it so hard to create a solo-build. Most PVP Builds are orientated between staying alive and doing damage. To stay alive, you need defense and healing, to do damage, you need raw power and energy. Since PVP Builds are created by a group of people doing this, a solo PVE build would require one person to do all of these.
Skills I use for farming. >> Staying Alive - Dolyak Signet: Adds defense and unknockable status at no energy cost. Only side-effect is you move 75% slower, last I checked, monsters didn't run away from you too often. - Watch Yourself: Adds a set 20 armor for a short period of time. Only requires adreniline, which can easily be built using a cyclone axe around a mob. - Bonetti's Defence: Allows a short period of time where you have a 75% chance to block attacks. It will end if you use a skill, but it remains un-harmed if you use a spell. You can heal yourself constantly while the energy bonus maintains energy. >> Healing: - Healing Breeze: +HP Regen, can't say much more than that. - Vigorous Spirit: Allows a good amount of HP to be healed for almost every action you do. Combine with cyclone axe to heal multiple times, also compatible with spells if you want to spam orison or something. - Orison of Healing: Not the greatest heal, but easily spammed for low energy cost also helps damaging spells such as zealots fire. - Healing Hands: Good self-enchantment that can bring you from 5 hp to 500. >> Damage Skills - Cyclone Axe: Build adreniline and just do some damage. - Balthazars Aura: Very nice smiting aura, requires 25 energy so use a staff/offhand/glad armor. - Symbol of Wraith: Also a pretty nice smiting aura, 1/5th the energy requirement of aura and more damage, but half the time and double the recharge. - Zealot Fire: Good enchantment to combine with spammable spells such as orison of healing. >> Energy Management - Balthazars Spirit: Not great for warriors in PVP, but in a solo situation, who else are they going to pick on? Minor adreniline + 1 energy everytime your hit. - Bonetti's Defence: Mentioned this earlier, great defense and energy management skill. That's about it... the reason I didn't put it in a build-form is because there already are plenty of good ones here. Hope it helps. sandman1
im curos thou if your running
6. Vigorous Spirit 7. Mending 8. Balzathar's Spirit. would'nt this bring energy regen to -1(since your running 3 enchantments) i run an axe/smite/tatics bulid and can solo 6(usually 4 since normally one griffon per group always sits out of the fight till one is dead) griffons and +3-6 minatours at a time there a risk of dying as expected safer to kill 2-3 grps at a time i use 1)cyclone axe 2)healing hands 3)healing breeze 4)zealot fire 5) Balzathar's Spirit 6)penerating blow (u can swap this for any other skill if u like,i jus wan to use up all tat adrelaine ) 7)bone defense 8)symbol of wrath important thing is timing, always have healing breeze up at all times once hp goes lower than 50% cast Healing hands and onces it runs out hide behind bon defense as much as possible until healing hands is up again as mentioned, this only works on melee mobs tat dun cancels your enchantments hope it helps Dyzfunctioned
My W/Mo Farming build uses the following:
12 + 1 Axe Mastery (Minor Rune) 10 + 1 Strength (Minor Rune) 8 Healing Prayers And then a few 1 or 2 in tactics, protection, smiting etc. Skills: Defy Pain Healing Breeze Cyclone Axe Vigorous Spirit Balthazars Spirit Mending Purge Conditions Remove Hex Basically just cast mending and balthazars spirit on yourself, rush into a large mob, vigorous spirit, Cyclone axe constantly, have defy pain on constantly, healing breeze if needed, and then purge and remove hex if theres something on you you need to get rid of. super dooper

Greetings.
As someone who has a Warrior/Monk focusing in Strength, Swords and Healing, I definately approve of your first build listed. However, unfortunately this warrior is not far enough along yet to have Hundred Blades. As this one is currently only up to Lion's Arch, I'm curious what you would recommend instead of Hundred Blades? I'm fairly sure I have most of the rest already in hand (not positive). sgtclarity
there's nothing that can replace hundred blades,
which is why i like axes better Melkor of ZoSo
What I use is:
Healing:10 Sword:11 Tactics:13 -Galrath Slash (For when you have enough Adrenaline and want to get a good strike in) -Live Vicariously (+10 HP When you hit) -Vigerous Spirit(+10HP When you attack. This coupled with Live Vicarously gives you +20HP per 1.33 seconds, unless you're blinded or blocked or evaded) -Shield Stance (20 Seconds of 75% Chance to block physical attacks. Gives you lots of time to do some Healing Sigs and other attacks) -Gladiator's Stance (Can still use Healing Sig with this, and 75% of Physical Attacks are blocked and 32 damage dealt back to the source) -Hundred Blades ( Great for both offense and defense. You're getting twice the damage in, and twice the +20HP from Live Vicariously + Vigerous Spirit. And that's if you're only striking ONE enemy) -Boenetti's Deffense (Great for recovering energy... 75% chance to block physical attacks, and when you do, you get 5 energy. With Hundred Blades, this skill usualy charges fast) -Healing Singet(Gotta have it) I can solo 3 lvl 24 Griffons with this... Havent really tested anyting else. This is a VERY bad solo build for Spellcasters though...mind you... those Ice Imps tear me apart. byoo511

Curses has everything over blood magic. EVERYTHING!
It can reduce enemy energy over time. It has degen. It eats Enchantments like Candy [yay rend]. It lowers enemy defense. It has armor ignoring damage. [yay for Mark of Pain and barbs!] It Lowers incoming dmg. (which is what makes it far better than blood magic in terms of efficiency) Reducing dmg coming in is very good mana-wise. It inflicts crazy style conditions over an area. [Enfeebling Blood allows you to tank Aatxes and with Bonetti's VERY well] From what I'm aware of and read, blood magic only does one thing well, manipulate hp. And from what advice I've recieved from Rex and the other vets here at gwg, it's energy / hp gained is really crappy. Better to go monk if you want to heal but I say just using one massive heal [Victory is Mine!] and a good long lasting dmg reducer is just plain better. [and remember, W/N can tank enchantment ripping melee enemies.] Alpha Moth
Ok, thanks for advice

Anything. A stance would be good, such as Berserker Rage or whatnot, or an extra damaging 5 eng cost sword attacking would also be perfect. Don't take Frenzy unless the monsters are doing 0 to you though, you'll die fast.

Nice build UberRusty! . I can kill about 4 minotaurs at once with that build.. but if more come, then i'm totally dead.. i need more practice =P.
Although it is a good build, I'm having trouble finding places with monsters that melee only.. Elona's Reach is a good place, but only the beginning has minotaurs.. Any suggestions on other places to farm? Tiela

I didn't know that
This really makes it useless in comparison with other ones don't you think ? Howling Wind
With a warrior I always tend to base a build around gladiators defense and have worked well against griffons, minotaurs, trolls, grawls and all other melee mobs and sometimes a few hydras with a bit of skill swapping.
There were a few old builds that I used for a while and have worked well but this is the last build I used for my warrior which also worked well. Axe: 12 str: 9 Tactics: 9 Healing: 9 Smiting: 8 Watch Yourself Cyclone Axe Gladiators Defense {E} Bonnetis Defense Dolyak Signet Vig Spirit Live Vicarously Zealot's Fire Basically cast a Live Vicarously straight away, then wait for your energy to be full, then round up the enemy and quickly cast zealourt's fire (or cast before rounding if you wanna be safe) then straight away Glad Defense up and then cast Dolyak Signet then Vig Spirit and should have enough left for 1 cyclone axe that should charge up Bonnetis and Watch Yourself in one go. When Glad finishes just do this, 1 cyclone axe then 1 bonneti's, in between cast watch yourself, then cyclone, then bonnettis and cast dolyak as soon as it recharges. If you have't guessed it, your main damage is not the axe but the zealot's fire, everytime u cast Watch Yourself, Dolyak Sig, Bonneti's and Glad Def you deal damage, the cyclone is there for your heal and with bonnetis' energy shouldn't be a problem. Maintaining HP should be no problem as well and if you do drop below 50%, then as soon as Glad Def is up, cast away cyclone axe as much as you can because unlike bonneti's, Glad Def won't break if you use a skill so that should pump your hp back up because u won't be getting hit for a few sec. No rude tone in my sentences but I've tested Bonetti Defence and it ends when you cast a spell OR skill. (Skill = Spell in the description)
Actually it ends AFTER you have cast a spell or skill, try casting a spell that takes a second or 2 to get off, bonnetti's will stay on untill you have finished casting another spell or activated a skill. Just some spells and skills activate quite fast if not instantly. | :::End Transmission::: UberRusty

I always thought the mods on the piece of armor applied if you get hit in that section. So if your only using the boots, the -2 dmg only applies if you get hit in the feet. I read somewhere that there are different percent chances of you being hit in the various sections (chest/leggins/head/gloves/boots). |
I'm probably very wrong on this. Be gentle in your response to the new guy. As far as the builds. Awesome combos to try out for my w/mo and w/n even. FFF_WarRaven

Yes, that is what I meant, but pardon me for not putting it in more specific terms.

In all honesty i'm not really sure that matters at all, as you have a total health bar, and yes the damage varies, but i'm not sure getting a "hit" in one area or another makes a big differince, personally i have yet to acctually "see" someone get hit in the feet lol, perhaps its random depending ...not sure but i mean each peice of armor if your using a whole set together is all the same. ie 80x5 75x5 etc, etc.. If what you say has any merit then it wouldn't matter either way then, it wouldn't stack as a total but per indivual peice at any time any of it gets hit so a -2 to any peice rather than a stacked -10 per hit. Almost like how i have heard some people say to put certain runes on certain armors which i don't really think matters either. :::End Transmission::: UberRusty

It applies everywhere. There was an extremely informative article about armor, I'll try and find it for you, it's where I got all my info from. n_n

I've got a w/mo solo build that can take on as many griffons and minotaurs as can attack you at once. Let's start off with my equipment:
Platemail everything but boots. Those are knights. I also have a sup vigor, sup abs, and sup tactics, with minor axe and minor str. I'm not sure that it's essential though. Axe, Shield w/ -2 damage while enchanted. Tactics - 16 Axe - 9 Heal - 12 Smite/Str - Whatever's left. This doesn't really matter, it just makes things quicker. Cyclone Axe Bonetti's Defense Vigorous Spirit Judges Insight (optional, but it speeds things up) Healing Breeze (I don't find myself using it in most runs, but it's a nice backup) Open, I usually bring Resurrect when I'm leveling someone else as they tend to die, alternatively you can bring executioners strike or some other damage skill. It doesn't matter. Mending (Cast this before you leave the gate. Period.) Live Vicariously (Same as mending. You want 10 energy left in your pool before you start fighting.) After casting mending and live vicariously, go out, aggro a bunch of stuff, get good and surrounded, and right before the mob swarms, cast Vigorous Spirit and immediately afterward, cyclone axe. This should be enough adrenaline for Bonetti's Defense, which will fill up your energy bar. Cast Judges Insight as soon as you can, and your energy will more than likely be at 20 by the time it's cast. Cyclone Axe, Bonetti's, Repeat. Keep an eye on Vigorous spirit, and stay away from Rockshots. If you get a devourer on you while you're in the middle of a group, do whatever you can to get to it. Kill it. He'll kill you by killing your skills. This is an effective build anywhere vs. melee, for the most part. As per usual, enchantment droppers kill you. Happy farming! UberRusty
Bump.
