Ok this rely's on a few things. One you are not damage, while I have killed many a people the purpose of this build is SHUTDOWN, not draining energy not damage to casters but preventing them from jack. Given that your group needs DPS the group I run with does. When the main target is called you look for another monk and let the Mes know which one so you dont run into issues with backfire.
I normally run up and backfire once that wears down I bring up DBS to stop any x>1 sec spells once BO refreshes hit that again next time you are waiting for refresh, interupt(save signet for signet of devotion) or Inspire hex on a teamate. If it is a hex you can use (ie. blackout) use it then hit ether lord. Rinse repeat.
Once the group moves on your target I normally hit Blackout then find another target cause that guy is going down fast. If/when your team is winning use DBS/interrupts for guys trying to rez.
