no, u ascend in the desert. droknar's forge is post-ascension.

Also, Elite skills can be purchased from the Balthazar Priest there for 3,000 Faction.

Well, my D&D nut friend, they pretty much said everything.. You can also head into the shiverpeaks from here to the various areas and capture elite skills. Its also a good place to sell crafting materials, since all these new people get to droknars, and then they dont have the materials to craft their armor.. ^.~

Let's face it, pretty much everyone who rush to the the forge for one reason and one reason only-- armor. lol

Armor and skills are the reason people rush there. Plus drops are better in this area as well as the gold and everythign gives really great xp.

why get rushed? i mean you get there in the end anyway, and games get boring if you are all-powerful

I rushed my monk through because I like to solo. With the armor I can solo some of the harder areas which would be impossible under normal conditions. Plus this way I only buy 2 sets of armor not the 4 or 5 I bought with my others.
