Use my printer! Utilize it even . . . :-)

Sometimes in this paperless world, it really is nice to have a tangible piece of paper that I can tuck away and while I'm not at my computer, pull it out and look at it, make notes on the margins with a pen, doodle on, etc. I'm pretty sure most people have a printer of some sort hooked up to their computer, and this game could take great advantage of that fact.
I'd like to see a "print character . . ." option from the menu screen that would allow me to make a print out of my character's skills, current skill set, current armor rating, attributes, mission advancement info, skills unlocked . . . there could be a lot of information you could help me access in a report.
Why? So I can do some planning or thinking offline. It's kind of a pain to just sit in town and ignore chat and continue to sit in your computer chair while clicking around looking at skills and weighing attribute values, etc.
It would just kind of be a nice feature.
And, hey, if the printout was interesting, it could maybe be a silent promotional tool for guild wars. Someone walks up on me while I'm looking at my Guild Wars character sheet and asks what the heck I'm looking at .. . . that opens up a discussion on the game and Anet garners a new paying customer. It's like a promotional flyer that I'm carrying around for your game as well.
Printouts could also help guild leaders (especially if an "output to file" option is included with the print option) with looking at their member information. All kinds of uses here.
Now, I can open up all my windows and press print screen and print out my screencapture, but those usually are lacking a lot of information. When you do that, you really are looking at a few stats and a lot of icons with no backing information on the icon, i.e., I see an icon of a bow in my inventory, not the stats of my bow . . . unless i want to make a screencapture while rolling my mouse over each and every icon . . . and printing that out would kill a tree outright or cause me to spend a lot of time with a graphics program doing creative cropping.
Just a nice, tight stat sheet would be fantastic and you guys can add any advertising slick stuff on there as you want.
Thanks for your time!

You know what? I actually like that idea. You've got my vote.
Of course, I'm one of the old D&D (not AD&D, mind you, although I did move on to that later) types who really likes character sheets with stats. Lots of stats.
Damn. Now I really want to go play old-skool D&D...hard to find a good DM, though.
OK, back on-topic. Good idea.

Excellent idea. An original one at that as far as I've seen.
The only thing I'd add to it would be to include in the printed list the skills still locked for your current professions. A ready-made checklist of things to do if you will. Perhaps make that a toggle in case people would rather save some ink or what have you.

There really should be a better way of outputing information from guildwars to your computer (or printer). I currently maintain a guild that is comprised of two guilds (based on play type PvP or PvE). We still consider ourselves a single guild just with seperate branches. Anyway, about once a month I screen print the guild roster for each guild and then type all those names to a text file (100+). I then use a perl script I created to compare those names to the ones that are listed on our website roster. The output gives me what has changed between the two. This allows me to update the information as needed. Needless to say this would be extremly easy to do if I could just output all those names to a text file through an interface in guildwars. Heck it would be great if I could pull information from the guild status area too.

Don't print it straight away to a paper, but but to a text file.
Like in Fallout I/II, you had the option to print out all stats, inventory etc to a file. Then just edit the file with notes etc and print it out.
[Mentioned in OP's post, but. Think printing directly from a game might be tad tricky, especially with variety of Windows printing interfaces from drivers, might have some weird effects for people playing fullscreen]

It would be nice to not have to SS every new build I come up with or try to remember it whenever I feel like pulling it out again...

Great idea. Im currently keeping a list of my builds, stats etc. on a small notepad, but it would be much nicer to have slick, official looking sheets at hand.
