So I'm more of a PvE type guy, but I do enjoy some random pvp grouping. Hence I went to the Crags and D'Alessio, had a lot of wins and a lot of losses, depending on the team i was in of course.... These were my builds:
W/N
Sever Artery
Gash
Final Thrust
Wither
Bonetti's Defense/"Watch Yourself"
Rend Enchantments
Healing Signet
Plague Touch
I found this build to work extremely well vs. Monks in the Crags, but the Warrior Profession lacks good Healing abilities (I find ViM recharge too long for it to be elite, only works if you really specialize in conditioning) and the Curses attribute has none. I would die quickly to Mesmers and Necromancers when focused.
W/R
Sever Artery
Gash
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Melandru's Resilience
Flame Trap/Healing Spring
Troll Unguent
Nature's Renewal
Tried this build in D'alessio. Works well, but I couldn't cast Nature's Renewal if someone on my team was heavy on enchantments, which monks usually are. Melandru's Resilience proved a worthwhile elite skill, especially against Necromancers and Mesmers, not for healing but for simple degen damage reduction. Has a nice duration, will be in future builds. Troll Unguent and Healing Spring were hard to make stick, if you are being fought it is interrupted. For a W/R, don't know of any better skills, however. I found Healing Spring to be a bit better than Troll Unguent in PvP, although it is easily interrupted and AoE. I would appreciate it if Troll Unguent would be made 2 second casting time again. I also took Dryder's Defenses a couple of times, but it has a very long recharge and short duration, which is why I hardly take those Stances anyway. Overall, Defensive stance gets more play. First time I used Galrath Slash, and it was quite good. +60 dmg on the regular with no Strength (not that Strength would matter that much) where Final Thrust did between 80 and 110, will be in builds to come. Overall, the attack skills and Melandru's Resilience stay in this build. The rest, is a question I've yet to ask myself.
anyone know of alternatives for the W/R especially (the W/N i found was more useful and did some really good work), and was there a way to unlock all runes/itemy things in pvp? Apparently not, cause I sought, but couldn't find any.
