Guild Wars Collectors in England

Does anyone know why this game is alomost impossible to get in England (perhaps even all Europe)?

I got the Basic game on day of launch, played it, loved it, decided to get the Collectors. But it was no-where to be found.

I looked in shop after after shop. I got "It's coming", "It's on order", "It's out soon", "Warehouse didn't send any", "The website nabbed them all" etc etc

Every answer under the sun apart from, "Yes Sir, here you go"

I have FINALLY been to track one down. Only 1 mind you. I went to <shop name> they said they weren't to allow stock anymore as it was in the process on being deleted. DELETED ALREADY - JEEZ. Anyway, they offered to check the other stores in the area, and after contacting 15 stores, found 1. I live in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, I have 3 MAJOR cites near me Sheffeild, Leeds and Manchester. But was it found in any those, NO. It was found in a nice town called Huddersfield.

So all being well and good I should the game on Monday. Stated Next Day, but the new Harry Potter book is out tomorrow, so my poor little game might get pushed by the way-side to make way for the troublesome teenage wizard and friends.

Anyway, sorry for going on, and I am sincerely sorry if this matter has already been raised. I just needed to get it off my chest, and I have no real freinds to bore, so sorry, you had to get it.

I've got my collector's by calling every game shop in Milan (Italy), which is the second biggest town in my country. Every one. And found ONE box in a shop like 12 km from home. Lucky me

I think A.net did not forecast such an amount of requests. The game ends up being wonderfully followed. Let's hope it keeps up this way, even with all the idiots... their money means features for us.

Let's hope they'll have more boxes ready

With reference to Calimar's comment about making more collector's - according to the store I finally maganed to get one "ordered" they said it was in the process of being deleted. So I highly doubt any more will even be made.

By ordered, I mean they ound at another town's store, and are getting it transfered.

As for Neonin and p0t4T0's suggestion about Play.com - I do not have a credit card (nor do I want one ever again - had one, worse decision of my life, NEVER again) so ordering online is rather hard.

Also Calimar makes a valid question about the Expansion pack, since is add's game content rather than actually being a game, I will be surprised if they do a Collector's version. But it would be a good way to reward people who spent months looking and manage to get 1. Even if they simply add a special ingame item. So could still brag. LOL LOL

I just hope enough people stick around long enough for the Expansion pack to be released. I heard it's not due until January 2006 - alot of people are getting bored now. If they have to wait another 6 months, I fear many will have moved on by then.

Play take debit cards too, I'd never have a credit card. My Switch (oh wait, it's Maestro now isn't it?) works just as well though. Very few online stores will only accept credit cards these days.

i Have to say i always order from Play.com and never had a problem, they post items very fast and they prices cant be betten PLUS Free P&P is ACE.

Actually I meant more boxes, not more collector's editions: I'm not a fan of collector's editions in general... but I tell you - this one was well worth it The artbook is wonderful, the soundtrack cd is great and the TS set is also so cool. But it was hard to find ANY box of GW. I was lucky 'cause the collector sold at 150% of the normal box price so one stayed on the shelf... till I got to it

I'd like a collector's edition for the expansion too. It would definitely be on my list and on my shelf as soon as it gets there.

I can't imagine how you can get bored of GW though. There is SO MUCH to be done. Of course if you limit yourself to PvE only or PvP only I guess you can get bored. But... there's the Guild stuff. There's pretty little guild talk here, isn't that weird?!
