Teamspeak?

I play GW with my brother who lives about 200 miles away...

The teamspeak client appears to be free, but how do we connect to speak to each other? are there free servers we can use?

Just go to www.goteamspeak.com and read up. you can also try www.ventrillo.com

You'll both need to be familiar with the software. Once you know what you're doing, everything should be fine.

We have both just gone post sear, so we're not looking for tactic heavy conversation in HoH or anything, it's just so we can chat while we wander around

Is Teamspeak like the voices in CS? you speak through the microphone?

kinda like that Rocco...only in CS it's a direct peer to peer to peer connection. Teamspeak uses a voice server. while CS just opens an audio port on your local machine.

both Ventrilo and TeamSpeak can be hosted off one of your computers. One of you runs the server and then both of you run the client and you won't need to pay for a server to host you.

We use TS and Vent quite a bit for Mechwarrior. They are both going to work well for only 2 people. I suggest enabling PTT. There is also an old program called BattleCom out there that is free that should work well if you can find it.
