PETITION - Instancing + New Characters
Tey
New guy here.
I'm completly against instancing being take out. With due respect to all of the people who have played other massives online, you know what I'm talking about.
I'm a casual player, I don't have huge amounts of time to make my character unGodly Uber. I Don't have enough time to go out there and camp and farm. I don't have time for somebody who thinks that screaming the word "n00b" gives them a status symbol of god, instead of keyboard warrior.
I love the concept that when I go out of town, everything is MINE and I can do it at MY own pace. If I wanna meet someone I'll meet them in town. It's not hard trust me.
I played enough MMORPG's to get sick of constant kill stealing, loot stealing etc.
Someone mentioned the party has to do certain amount of damage. I think we are not taking in concept that there are high level player that can outdamage a whole party quite easily.
No, forget signing this thing.

A petition on something that is not doable = Much ado about nothing
Guild Wars uses a peer-to-peer structure. The battle instances don't exist on a central servers at Anet. They exist on players' computers. To remove instancing you have to change both the basic technology and the business model. Unless people are willing to cough up $10 a month to play, instancing is here to stay.

I think instancing should be left as it is, and instead have bonus missions involving multiple teams. the mission objective could be a siege or defending a location where you have hordes of enemy attacking. it's like normal mission you form a party and start the mission with a count down timer. the difference is when you get into the mission you are joined by 6 other teams (or any number). the other teams dont show up in your allies menu but are considered allies, like the guards/soilders that help you fight off mobs on some maps. this basically means that your frist priority is to look after you team members first, i.e. monks can focus on healing the team, and sometimes other team members if needed.
the mission will have objectives like hold off the siege with one or more secondary objective being to infiltrate enemy base or cut off enemy supply line where 1 team is designated to the task while the remaining teams hold off the siege.
this way, you can have more than 8 human players on an instanced map and have epic battles involving hundreds (well maybe not that many :P) of players. what's more, if there arent that many teams joining, the other teams can be replaced by hench groups. or if possible, have teams join in later as reinforcements.

Instancing is what makes Guild Wars so unique vs. any other MMORPG out there! Honestly this is the first online game I played, and I think it's going to spoil me for life. Even hearing the things that go on with non-instanced games gives me nightmares. I mean LVL 100 mobs waiting outside of town to one hit kill your noob character as soon as he loads? That's not cool. Let Guild Wars be unique I say, and to players that don't want instancing they should play another game and let us have our way with this one. Not to mention it's just unfathomable for them to basically rewrite the game. Appreciate guild wars for not what it doesn't have but what it does have. You'll bug yourself a lot less.

Knight online has no Instancing & its nice to see other people in the wilderness.
*GWs is so lonely. no Instance would be so much more fun.
*give us 1 test server for non-Instance!

I do not wish to see the death of Instancing because it has great uses, but I for one would like to see some sort of "global" instance where as many people as they like can be in the same battle area (like WoW, FFXI, etc.).

I prefer keeping the instancing for some gameplay reason, i mean no newb can do almost all the game because high lvl clear the road everytime, and no one can just sit at one place and wait monster to spawn.

Remove instancing? Are you out of your RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing mind? NO WAY! Instancing is what makes this game awesome, because it lets you develop STRATEGY with a team. I bet you are one of the people who want parties of 800?

It's the filter for 'a word meaning penetrate'. Works rather well, IMO.
This idea should burn. Burn, rot, decompose, be vomited on, and be deficated on. Evil!!!
