I have noticed some people tend to load up after a portal and just a little further crash and your miles from the town you started which is a pain to get back to there. I just think if at every portal they put a marker to jump there it would save people a lot of grief because they just spent 1hr getting to that point and they went past 2 portals to get there. I know thats going to make your map look like someone shot at it with a shotgun but less trouble having to do things over you just completed.

I am one of those who seemed to have crashed every 2-3 hours after playing a mission or just out exploring the map .... what I have notice ..since there is no saving in this game from one point to another ...that where ever you last saved (meaning the marker on your travel map) is where you are taken to when you resigned back in..... no problem, exspecialty if you just started but if you have been playing 3 hours just exploring the map and you didn't get a marker to take you there where you crashed .....then you start over from the last saved marker on the travel map.....Like I made it to Yaks Bend then to another part of the map then to Iron Horse Mine then when I was loading for Anvil Rock I crashed and had to restart over to Yaks Bend and I didn't just crashed once I crashed 3 more time and did the same 3 areas over again just to crashed and to start over again in Yaks Bend. That is so time consuming when all they had to do was put a binding point by the area transition so just in case you crash or don't finish a quest you don't waste all the time redoing what you already did......

At very least, they have to make some markers of where the transition is on the "M" map. And quest/ally markers on the "U" map.

I agree.... Some markers would be very helpful when out and about traveling the countryside .......

Personally I like the fact that you can only go to towns and outposts through the map. If you could go everywhere it would make it far too easy. It already is easier than other games.

As for saving at entrances, I don't really have a comment right now.

I dont want to be able to go everywhere just know as a safety precaution if you crash after loading up from a portal to a next area that portal is added saying to Iron horse mine or so on.
