Black Dye

Where is agood place to get black dye in pre searing

its random. no good place. just kill everything and who knows maybe you will get 1. I have only gotten 2 blacks across the course of 3 ascended chars

are there some things that DONT drop dye

Everything can drop dye, but dye in general is a rare drop.
especialy black. I've never gotten a black dye drop with any
of my characters, but I've had several silvers and blues.
I've seen Black drop for other people in groups I've played with.
Obliviously, yellow and purple are more likely to drop then silver
and black.

Heh, 3 characters having beaten the game, and I've gotten one black dye, with my first character, the day before release, fighting grawl in Pre-sear... so good luck =P

Got my first and only (after 90h of game play) the other day. Well actually another player got it assigned to him. I told him that he had some dye dropped for him. He said he had lots of ink and that I could have it (he was not close to the dye at the time). So when we returned to that area and it was no longer assigned to him I picked it up. I'm thinking he did not know it was black...

P.S. It was a short mission and he ALSO got a silver. So I really have to question this "random" thing. I play a E/Me and play with a friend who is an W/Ne. 80% of the dye we find is assigned to him not me (we usally just play with the two of us). That doesn't seem all that random to me. Plus that other dude that got the black was a fighter as well...

Dyes drop a lot in Pre-searing. Create a new character and just fight. A lot. I did that, then went back and finished all my quests, and left Pre-searing with 17 dyes. I wanted more, but it was annoying get no xp or horrible loot, but on a side note, that character also left Pre-searing with 3k. 3 Silvers in all that dye, but no black. I was going to stay until I got one...but I couldn't resist the Searing. It called for me...

Oh and someone told my Bandits drop most of the dye in Pre-searing, so that is all that I fought. I did get three dyes from Skales, but they attacked me, otherwise, I only fought Bandits unless necessary for a quest.

i just reached Lions Arch and have 4 blacks one of which was a double drop of black/silver

the only other double drop i got was a double silver

both those in post sear old askalon explorable area

everything so far has dropped a dye for me except the skeleton rangers so far
