Don't people want to go to UW for quests anymore?

I know loot matters, but heck, fissure is so gloomy, and doing smite runs is just such a plain waste of time (nor very stimulating at that)... Is it just me, or is it really hard to just find groups and "explore" these days?

Probably, Generik. Now that people feel that farming and item drops have been nerfed, they seem more determined than ever to just grind away, hoping, hoping, hoping. It's too bad that people don't just want to quest and look around without and objective in mind.

I really wonder how the drop system works, but I sure did get the best loot I ever got while I was least expecting it.

Trouble is most of the map is so boring now, the only bits remotely interesting are UW and FoW... and while FoW is pretty big (UW is even bigger) it just seems so impossible to get a... like minded party too.

Heck, I do want to get that "OMG! GODZILLA! GOLD STORMBOW!" drop, but who said anything about it having to be boring?

I'm so bored of all those parties that just go in, do the same routine, and once it is done, leave..

BTW, Generik, look me up IG. I'd be happy to quest and explore FoW and the UW.

You know what? I've tried multiple times on multiple forums to get those interested in "The Long Haul" to come up with a way to identify each other. We need a method to STAND OUT FROM THE FARMERS. But you know what? Who cares? You all suck! All you want to do is bitch about it without trying to come up with a solution. AAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (ok I feel better... RIP Sam Kinnison.)

Seriously, I guess we're down to only doing it with friends or guildies. I mean it's not impossible to clean UW with a PuG but it's highly unlikely. Most don't have the time; 2.5-3 hours if you're experts running complementary builds and played together before and have been here so much you've got it memorized. It can take double that (or more) when they've never seen an obsidian behemoth before. And when you're down in the UW that long, real life gets in the way a lot. I've had people literally fall asleep on us. Had a guy go to eat (we agreed to it - wasn't a brb turned freeloader) and come back an hour later and catch up. An hour AFK and no one cared. Sometimes, and these are the worst, you get a couple hours in and get to a good pause spot and everyone wants to pee / get food / dance around the house to wake up... and the second everyone gets back super-charged and ready for more - you make a big OOPS and wipeout.

I've never restored all the shrines and done every single quest and killed every red dot in the UW with a PuG. I'm sure some have, and they should merge guilds when they do.

If you're gonna try it with GWG people that's extremely cool, but you might also post times you play... this is no smite run.

It's because of the fact that no one quests in the UW, they only do smite runs, that I no longer go there. I visit FoW only anymore.

However if you are up to some questing in the UW I will be happy to go along.

I've been trying to find people who want to quest in UW and FoW. I started a thread on one of the forums yesterday or the day before looking for people just like you, Generik

I've got a list of 5 or 6 different people I whisper when America has the favor to try to get a working quest group. Want me to whisper you too?

Yeah.... if we ever get favor on time ^_^

Anyway, problem is that after you're done grinding skill points, its sorta pointless questing for more xp, especially since the trips are barely(most the time) worth the time in drops and the annoyance you'll have to deal w/ if you find yourself w/ some retards. I did do a group of a 5man smite run(one crashed along the way) and we finished it and got phantom residue/demonic remains. So yeah, alot of times, it isn't worth it, I would try exploring it but you'll need very experienced cooperating teammates, most of the time, its best to just do it w/ party of 8 guildies.

Anyway, hit me up: Da Cebuano

if anything ever goes down.

Sure, put me on that subscription list too

And yes monkey, in fact, I think just typing in ToA "LFG AAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" might be a good identifer

To date the further I have ever gone is that bunch of mindblade spectres at the somewhere around *some* serpent *thingy*, and they really murder. Migraine + Conjure + a lot of other stuff.. I counted 4 hexes before. Top it off with shatter enchant, and everyone is useless.

I'm still figuring out someway to beat them.. someday.. if possible.. Hmm hmm

I noticed that too, I do Pug's for Fow/Uw runs. I like doing the quests in both but since Smite runs were nerfed and Fow has better drop rates no one wants to do Uw in Pug's since the patch came out.

(can you put me on the list too? If "Kinra" responds it's not me, I will always have tempest in my character name).

Actually I suspect UW still gives decent drops, all I see in FoW are half baked chaos axes and shards.

I did get a really pretty sword in one run when we virtually completed all the quests, but likewise I saw a similar sword drop in UW during a smite run, so I can imagine that it is pretty much.. random.

Questing is all I do in UW, it's the only thing worth doing. I have a run worked out that takes about 30 minutes and gives you 25000+ XP.

I'd love to explore the FoW and UW but I'm European and we haven't had favour (when I've been playing) for over a week. Oh well...

Exploring in the underworld is so boring, and I love exploring. But when you fight the same type of mob for a whole path, with no real reward from your hard work, you just lose interest. And the quests are really hard compared to FoW. Plus, the undead cleric things on the dead collector path that revive themselves are just creepy. Compared to FoW, you are much more narrow in where you can explore in UW.

But my warrior and monk are always up for some exploring and having fun with others. I'd love to find a group of people that have the time to stay so long. That's the real problem with exploring in FoW and UW.

Love to help, am on Euro server though, and to my knowledge we have had favour once in the last 2 weeks (while I have been on) - what a marvellously fair system, terrific idea to have pvp affecting pve like that...

My guild always does quests, although we sometimes do the smites in between quests. We also usually don't have 8 people, so we pick up some regular players. I'm sure there are other guilds doing the same thing.
