Why Running Must Stop
ComMan
I was playing in the comp arena the other day, when I teamed what seemed like an average griefer called Whats a Newbian [Fang]. When he said in team chat, "I am level 1 and 90% of the way to my next level" and "My health is 1 of 0" I thought he was kidding. Sadly, he wasn't.
This guy must have had some guild-mates run him to Kryta and spent some gold to get superior runes from the Trader, becase he really was a level 1 with 0 hp. He just joined, died, and then either made fun of people or quit (and I assume joined again). I got him on my team for 2 out of 5 games in the arena before I just quit.
If anybody sees anyone with a [Fang] tag, please tell them I hate them all. And if you feel like running someone to Kryta for a few extra K, DON'T!

IIRC, you can buy superior runes in Post-Searing Ascalon...

Ah, my mistake, I didn't see you mention the comp. arena. I thought he was just messing around in the Asc. Arena. There is no reason for a level 1 to be in LA though, since there's really nothing they can do there at that level anyway.

Um, the problem here is that someone joined the arena to just joke around, not that someone was rushed to a place. You get people like this no matter what level. Just bad luck.

I've found it's annoying. Taking my girlfriend through GW, it's just me, R/Mo, her, Mo/Me and we have to fill in the gaps with people because I'd liked to get her some healing monk experience with real people.
Instead we find everyone trying to get rushed to places and people trying to offer services to rush people. Villainy of Galrath pissed me off as the team decided to rush all the way down to Witman's Folly from Black Curtain. That's not how you bloody do it >: You fight your way down into Whitmans folly, then fight your way through and then you're taught a lesson in pulling mobs and avoiding aggro right near the end. These guys just charged in and attacked everything in sight. Me and her just decided to sit back somewhere out of range and let them die.

I have the same response for the 90 billionth time as other threads which lead my thoughts through to the same conclusion:
I use henchmen or real life friends and that is all. Problem solved.

how they heck do you have 1 out of 0 hp?
runners are why i rarely every play with people, aside from all the horror storys i hear (leavers, theives, etc), which actualy kinda kill the point of this game.. but at least im not playing with any lvl 1s

Most people don't have that option when playing random Arena team games.

How would a level 1 get to Lions Arch with just 2 or 3 basic skills?btw I saw a level 10 at Sanctum Cay.

I play random matches all the time. I simply make sure that my team is all people I personally know, and therefore it does not matter if the idiots on the opposing team leaves, it hurts them, not me.
And it could be said with brutal efficiency "it's a package deal, take it or leave it."
Sir Skullcrasher
are you sure its not level 1 with 10 or even 20 health cuz 0 health seem impossible even for someone that is level 1?

I saw a level 7 monk in RoF the other day. Even partied with him. Did really well considering his low level. It was obvious he knew the mission...I'm sure he had completed it before. Didn't really have a prob with it, in fact I thought it was kinda cool, until I found out his only rez was a rez signet.
We failed the mission. True due somewhat in part of the low level monk, however most of the blame for the mission failure lays actually on other team members to tell ya the truth. Had a cpl of Warriors decide to go all gung ho when they shouldn't have. A higher level Monk may have saved the party/mission but all that shows is Monks are good at catching the mistakes of others. If the Warriros would have been more conscientous of the fact that the Monk could not heal as fast things would have ended differently. Of that I'm sure.

No it's not impossible. I've made a ranger char, bought some cheap ass superiors when I made it to post sear ascalon at level 2 and shoved them all on. That -75hp stacks up.
Spike
well since you start with 100 health at lvl 1 and if you put on 2 major runes you have 0 health. You should be prevented from doing that.

I have seen level 3 w/n in Lion's arch selling sigils. Someone enlighten me

well running isnt to only way to make money, although they "nerfed" everything to near death it doesnt mean you can make money... heck i made 1K today (after about 4 hours in the crystal desert [sp?])... see its not impossible, everyone just thinks they need to bring in infinityK per hour...

Examples: 15k armor, Fissure armor, 1 billion gold items, things that you need in this game salvage kits, Dye, ale , and other things of this nature.

I make 1k in 6 minutes.

This is more of an issue of Random Arenas being flat out unbalanced and well...random.

I've also seen lvl 1 (and yes they are lvl 1) late in the game. It may be remotely possible to get to Lions Arch etc at lvl 1, if you have teammates running you there and taking great care not to finish any missions or killing any monsters, but basically you have to go out of your way to avoid levelling, and going out of the way to do anything probably isn't in the nature of these guys. So... this will get this post deleted, but IMO they're using a hack, or hacked accounts.

Anyway, yeah it's possible, but you really have to plan for it, not do any quests to get skills, and everyone in the team has to only run and always avoid killing anything. Could be an interesting project for someone with a really bored guild, but there's a bit too many of them now for me to buy that explanation.
Plus, what would be the point of rushing someone to late in the game at lvl 1? He'd have no skills and wouldn't have unlocked anything for PvP.
DrSLUGFly
The point is to get the best armor, then go back to Ascalon and go through the quest (or more likely fight with the best armor on.. there should be an armor filter as well as a level filter on the ascalon arena).
I don't see the point to complaining about it though... I don't see how it hurts me that people do this.

It doesn't really hurt anyone but I think the conundrum is interesting to people. How -do- you get to the Ring of Fire at level 1? I can't imagine...

My first character had to be level 3. I left at level 4. My 2nd character is still in presear at lvl 9. My 3rd is at LA @ lvl 16.

Still didn't make level 2, huh?
Too bad someone can't run you there.
