Well as you may have noticed the music in guild wars is no match for the beatles (im not saying its bad, im just saying that a hard days night stomps a mud hole in it ) so i just wanted to know if anyone else here has experienced any problems with playing a winamp in the background of GW such as low FPS or anything

i use to do it with D2 all the time and would get a a little lag now and again, so basicly what i need to know is has anyone ever experienced any side effects to playing music with GW

just in case you needed to know my grapics in the game are pretty much as low as they can go (sometimes that affected my gameplay in d2)

anyways any feedback would be great

I use musicmatch and there is the briefest of pauses as the next track is played, barely noticable though.

Wow, me too, lol.

Musicmatch jukebox...the free one. Gotta love "REO speedwagon, Hooked on a feeling" while im slaying dozens of monsters with my monk. lol.

Anyways, no problems here. Not had trouble with realplayer or windows media player either.

What "Problems" are you experiencing?

Thanks i guess its worth giving it a shot

edit: well when i played music with D2 i would get like short, but deadly, pauses during big battles and music changes... and when im playing as my monk, one pause could get a "WTF HEAL".. and we dont want that

D2 (Diablo 2?) wouldn't use as much processor power, so of course it would seem smoother.

The ram of your computer would be what matters in this issue.
Its what enables your computer to multi-task. With 2G of ram,
I'll be honest with you, I can run a lot of things in the backround
while playing guild wars. mind you 512 should be enough, but I
havent use a computer with less then a 1G since a few years.
so I dont really know about that,

( I got bored while tring to sell things in Lion's Arch, that i reduce
the GW screen size to take half my monitor. then started a movie.)

well i tried it out and it was great, no lag or anything, i was playing as my monk and "staying alive" came on, how cool is that (because i have to keep everyone alive... well i thought it was funny)

I watched the newest episode of Naruto and ran GW at the same time last night, not to mention listened to the latest twit-cast. I think it depends mostly on your computer. I run GW with max settings, but i still have no problem running winamp in the background. You just need a little bit beefer computer.

but even so, i can't run winamp, GW, and fraps without falling to 20 frames per second...

well i just got a new computer like 3 months ago, my old one gave up on me

anyways ive been doing some experiments with the music and sofar the only time i had lag was went into a big battle, but my computer normaly slows down at that part anyways so a little more wont hurt
