Hell's Precipice

Since I haven't found any such list anywhere so far, I decided to start my own. I am compiling a list of every area and every creature that inhabits every area. I have semi-completed the Ascalon region (Old Ascalon to the Ascalon Foothills). Why? I'm just that boring.

The Ascalon list is located here: http://scbnet.8m.net/GW/GWAscalon.htm
Yes, it's my free website that I am too cheap to pay for so there are annoying advertisements all over the place.

I'm sure there are probably a few omissions here and there. I only have the bosses for the missions so far. I have not yet included any creatures that only spawn for certain quests. I may have made some typos and not gotten all of the skills right. But all-in-all I like how the list is coming.

Would you like photos? I think it would be very fun to make a monster/collector/crafter photo index.

I may do that. It would be nice to be able to say click on a Devourer picture and then see a list of every type of Devourer with a picture and stats.

Actually, I think the boss monsters are named almost randomly.

I know the boss names for the missions are set. They just spawn in random locations. I don't know about the bosses for the explorable areas though.

So far I counted 39 different creatures (non-boss and non-NPC) in Ascalon as a whole. Creatures that may spawn at different levels I only counted once. I think such creatures look the same anyways although a couple have an extra skill with the higher level spawn.

I think you're half right. I think the bosses are given random names from a pre-set list. (although looking at some of the names one could assume random characters at times ) But each species is given its own list of names. One of the best I've seen, perhaps the best in the game is The Judge... however seriously not befitting an Ice Golem...

Ooohhh... to see a boss worm....

For one thing, the Guild Wars Guru compedium is incomplete. There are few to no pictures of any of the creatures and the information is unreliabe.

I mean, really. They confuse Old Ascalon with Pre-Searing Ascalon.

If we want to catelog the monsters, what do you care?

It seems you only list the visible skills for monsters. Many of the warrior and ranger-type monsters use stances which don't appear on the skill monitor, and can only be discerned through recognizing the visible effect or combat effect. But if you mean to compile a comprehensive list, you might as well do it properly, and you'll want to add those in.

I'd suggest making two lists, one list containing each unique monster with its level, class combination (only a few monsters in the game use skills from two classes though) and skills they use, and another for each area listing the numbers if you must. Might as well take the Prima guide approach and note their locations in the area as well, but keep in mind certain maps have slight monster spawn variations, and quests/mission progression can introduce even further discrepancies.

Yeah, I meant the explorable areas. The mission ones are set.

I already have that list so far except for the class combination field which I could add. But I'm waiting until I complete the entire list before I toss it online.

Sagius Truthbarron, nice pictures. And I'll be sure to add the ones I missed.
