Mega Lag for April BWE
Skult
Ok I have look around at other forums and found that Lag was a serious issue for many players this weekend including myself.
This was the worst BWE for lag for me thus far with consistent character freezes (just stands still) for 20- 60+ plus seconds! This was really quite inexcusable and totally ruined my gaming experience!
In addition to freezing up, I was "rubber banding" and had diminished frame rates. Guild Wars was so frustrating for me to play that I had to log of so many times that I just didn't bother playing until the end of the BWE.
My system is defragged and I exceed all system requirements. My PC was working fine in other online game environments during the weekend with no lag problems so this was specific to GW.
As a result of April BWE, I am now reluctant to purchase the game when it goes retail and I certain don't plan to run out and buy it as soon as it hits the shelves.
Very Disappointed.

on the other hand i had literally no lag and only a few instances of rubber banding over the 3 days

I also experienced practically no lag. Twice, max, did I experience anything related to real lag, and one of them was because my DSL modem disconnected. The other time was movement stopping during a period of about one minute, and wasn't during prime time hours.

I experienced considerable lag as well, but it was wierd, my framerate was fine but it took a few seconds more to cast spells, sometimes it was fine and sometimes not, and i run to an area, lag and then teleport back a bit. Im still not entirely convinced that it wasnt my comcast cable messing up. I never had this in previous betas.
tp648
lag wasnt a big problem for me, just pets and teamates gettin in my way of walking!
Allmightybob
I had awful lag for the first 30ish minutes of playing, after that everything was fine execpt for some rubberbanding.
You'll be back, they always say "blah blah and now Guild Wars sucks I am leaving", the next beta they're back asking for a friends key

My computer for the most part is below minimum or at minimum requirements. I keep everything at lowest possible settings. I did experiance some graphic lag. It was worse in towns. I did experiance some 'rubber-band' movements, but not nearly as bad as some other games I have played. Never once did I crash (except the last several minutes of the BWE when the district I was in crashed) Never once did I have to restart to free up the lag problem. I did not have the problem of 'freezing' either.

When i first logged on i had horrid lag and if i tryed to move anything in my invitory my comp froze.
This was due to Dell/Intel and there pos intergrated GC "Extrem" Graphics 2, so i whent and bought a new radeon. That set the world right

Hopefully I won't have to worry about lag issues after release. April's BWE was my only BWE where I experienced serious lag issues. I'm dying for the 27th to come around to hop on and go non-stop! I just hope Gwen, the bone dragons and the earth wyrms are less frequent now! I did enjoy those moments though!

I had plenty of lag last bwe, but none at all on this one.
vai demine
I only had a couple of lag problems, the worst being my own fault because good ol' Norton Anti-virus started a virus scan in the middle of a mission. Other than that, nothing. And I was running on my laptop, which is nowhere near optimal system requirements.
By the way, what is meant by "rubber-banding"?

The only serious lag I have ever experienced since playing E3 For Everyone back in May was the recent Gnomes Who Say Ni attack. But since I don't think that will be a common encounter, I can safely say GW runs silky smooth. Even on 56k.

"rubber banding" aka warping
basically you are saying walking in one direction you suddenly fly foreward some distance, get stuck then bounce back to where you were. usually happens on loaded mplayer servers running crappy connections, but this was the first BWE that ive seen it in GW
My system is set up pretty well considering its age and the specs of the game, id say it could be called an average machine, maybe lol
i was getting infrequent (say once or twice every 2hrs) lag spikes and rubber banding, even when soloing or just simplying walking around.
AMD Athlon XP 2100+(1.73Ghz) FSB @ 266mhz
768 MB DDR333
Geforce 4 TI 4200 128MB (OCed 305/530)
ATA 133 60 HDD
3000/512 DSL line

He is either on dialup or complaining needlessly. Perhaps someone was downloading on your network? That takes up a lot of bandwidth.
Thy Shadow Wolf
I myself had very little lag. Though, during some walking around during Yak's Bend, there was a lot of lag. That was the only time, minus a few rubber-banding.
SSE4
I experienced lag a few times. Nothing below acceptable levels mind you, but lag nonetheless. Nothing that detracted from gameplay.
DigitalX
I had a little lag, here and there... it was only for like 5 minutes though becuz i opened GW b4 my comp completely started up... lol
but if u wanna compare here's my specs :P
nForce2 Motherboard Chipset
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Processor
1 160GB HDD
1 40GB HDD
512MB DDR333
nVidia GeForce4 MX 64MB Built In Graphics Chip
nVidia GeForce 6600 GT AGP 128MB Video Card
10000KB Down / 1000 Up Line Speed - Avg of 7000 Down / 600 Up
Edit: Oh can't forget i did also get d.ced about 5 times in a row, not due to lag, due to stupid server errors... Err=7 from the server, got like 3 districts in Lion's Arch disconnected about 4 to 5 times, it was about 3 hours from "The End"
