The smiting rod is fairly easy to get - 5 stone summit badges and trade it in at the collector in droknar's forge city.

just a suggestion, instead of gettin the smiting rod,

consider this.

you can craft a sword in HoD just before riverside
and it will give you +5 energy, this may be usefull as a one hand weapon for a monk, along with that +5 energy, you can add in a hilt of fortitude for 20-30 health.

use this on my emo smiter and it works out great.

yea thatd might work pretty well but im a mo/me >.> so wielding a sword wouldnt help as much as a wand and a focus item, right now i have a insightful smiting staff of fort from the collector and i just added a +4 energy and +28 health mod onto it but im looking for what i posted above
