I got bored.....
dansamy
So, I decided to play with the cape designer. My guild's current cape has a white skull on the blue/blueflowers backdrop instead of the beer mug, but I'm rallying for beer.
Quid Pro Quo
The one on the top right with the dark blue/gold/silver colors looks really nice but its not a cape I would want for myself.
dansamy
Lol! I'm not too fond of the whole flowers thing myself, even though I am female. But, I have to admit, it's better than one more clone of "black background, red/burgundy flames up the side, some kind of skull/crossed swords/demonic head emblem" cape-style that nearly ever 2-man guild in the game has.
Quid Pro Quo
Actualy if you play in america you will notice a recent popularity with this:
Type of cape in many colors and cape shapes(ripped, sharp, ect.).. Sadly as you can see.. my guild unfortunetly has the same type of cape pattern.. I really can't wait until I make my own guild.
Sorry for using the old out dated screenshot but its the best one I had of the shitty cape.

I do play on American, and I see the same black/red/skull theme nauseatingly everywhere.

Ahhhhh!! foreigner!!!! run hide!!!!! lol j/k but yea American capes suck, there isnt anything original in the good ol US of A anymore.....
dansamy
I am not a foreigner. I am in AL. Unfortunately, I'm having a battle with insomnia....thus my boredom.

Gah, next time you go to Lion's Arch, just count the number of capes you see with the sword logo and the flames design, it's ridiculous the amount there actually are.
Also, for bonus points, count the number of them that actually look GOOD

LOL - Where's my bonus points cause I can already tell you how many of them look good: none! They are clones of each other, variations on a theme in a neverending fugue. (Only music theory students will get that joke, I'm sure! )
Storm Crow
you confuse my northern redneck brain with you big 'insomnia' word....
dansamy
In-, meaning not, -somnia, meaning sleep. Lol! Then after my insomnia, I had clinical. Now, I'm back home again and seriously considering a nap, which will lead to further sleep distrubances. Vicious little cycle, eh?

I personaly think that it would be cool to really get a profesional to make a cape, and make it look like, designer or somthing... multipule shades of blue, etc.
Spartan2
Dansamy, most capes are boring... just like funeral marches... :/
My symphonic winds band played Polka and Fugue from the opera "Schwanda, the Bagpiper" by Jaromir Weinberger, arranged by Glen Cliffe Bainum...
While it was one of the best fugues I have ever listened to and played, they still get rather dull after playing it every day.

that doesn't help ... since most players are male, and most males have no fashion sense, any thought out and color coordinated cape design I offered my guild was declined by the rest, who only wanted the typical flame design
DarkWasp
I saw a cool green jungle/ranger cape thing the other day.

Hey, I'm male and I have 0 fashion sense, but thats still enough to know those flames are just retarded. I have to resist laughing at the people who try to recruit me with their "awesome capes."

I just see flames with everything. I'm seriously contemplating making a one man guild just so I can see a decent cape every now and then.
Mavrik
well the cape my guild has does have flames. Its an interesting looking cape but I'm just a member and can't change it to something different.

It's a good way to pick out the bad guilds from the good guilds.
Flames attract 12 year olds. 12 year olds are a healthy percentage of the population on this game. So guilds make these flamer capes hoping to attract 12 y/os and fill up their guild roster. See a guild with a flame cape and more than 30 members? You don't want to be in it (as always there are definitely exceptions).

And most likly a good chunk of them havn't logged in for weeks.
What Now Homie
Our guild's cape is a black/silver color, a heavy black line bordering it, the two chameleons in a circle for the design in a silverish coler, and a small design at the very bottom kinda shaped like a heart (not really, just the best description.)
