I was sold this shield the other day, I thought it was really interesting.

Skull Shield
Armor +15 Req 8 tactics
Recieved damage -2 while enchanted
Recieved damage -2 while in stance

Of course, it is gold, but that is not what matters.

What kind of worth does this thing have? Also, does anyone know if +45 health is better than the additional -2 recieved? I have the Crimson Carapace (sp?) shield from the collector, I it like more than any other I have seen except for maybe this.

So, please feel free to discuss the worth of this versus:

Crimson Carapace Shield
Armor 16 req 9
Recieved damage -2 while in stance
Health +45 while in stance

Also, I am curious to know what kind of gold value it has. But, I will probably never sell it.

it pretty much boils down to :
do you want 1 less armor and two less damage
or
1 more armor and 45 more life?

id take the latter of the two because after taking like 10 hits for say 10 damage you're saved a whole 20 damage. Or you could have 45 more life (most stances last for ~10 seconds anyways, with a decent level of tactics). not a bad find though, its a skull as well...sexy..

Personally I prefer the minus damage over the +45 health I think its all pretty much how you want to play your character..

W/MO: with points in healing would probably prefer +45 health because they have healing spells to heal up that extra +45 health once its been depleted. they lose hit points quicker but when you can heal its not a big deal.

W/MO with points in protection or W/E this being me with armor of earth, I run pure defense I use ascalon armor for the -2, major absorbtion -2, Shield -2 while enchanted.. because when you already take very little damage from every hit another -2 off the top of that is a big deal..


Scenario(1): one warrior pulls a group of five monsters for his weaker teammates to kill with magic W/MO(healing) takes 10 damage per hit from each monster total loss of 50 hit points. theres goes your +45 health bonus but wait you have healing breeze, thats fixed..

Scenario(2): one warrior W/MO(protection)W/E(armor of earth) pulls those same five monsters(i know armor of earth halves the damage i take with +50AL I assume the protection warriors can do the same with life bond and other skills) so upon pulling five monsters who attack for 10 damage each halved down to 5 damage each plus your using a shield that takes -2 damage off of each hit now your at three damage from each swing so from five monsters doing three damage you taken a total of 15 damage.

so its user preference, my thought though I prefer not to take damage a good healer somewhere in the background will keep you standing.
