Why this BWE sucked
March Hare
Well for me the big thing was LIFE got in the way… On Friday I had to work late so I only got in 1 hour. Saturday I had family obligations; so I only got 6 Hours. Sunday I had to work again and meet up with some friends that I haven’t seen in over a month; once again only 1 hour of play… Stupid this is last week I had a three day weekend, had the time to play but no BWE…
I couldn’t seem to really get into the whole regular play or strategy of the game when everything will be wiped now (except for you luck Alpha’s), I was giving things away that I probably could have sold either in trade or just to one of the NPC for a relatively good price… but what was the point, it’s not like I could reap any real benefit from what I was doing. Hence random acts of kindness prevailed.
It’s a bit depressing thinking of all the time I have spent total playing the game (~130 hours) and all of that had work is now gone… My big goal was foiled – reaching level 20 from scratch in 3 weekends – due to the lack of time I had for this last weekend. I only got to 16½; I guess that’s no small accomplishment in its own, but not as fulfilling.
Much of the time most of the players in missions just wanted to make a run for it to see how far they could get before “the end”. This made it rather difficult to gain any real levels; there is no experience in running. I didn’t have time to try and find too many groups that wanted to stand and fight, though I did luck out on Saturday and found a great group (Kitten gave us a name off “Doom Group” as we were kicking some serious A**, even had our own theme song).
So in conclusion for all of you who had the time to do all of the things that you wanted for the last BWE, congratulations. For those who were recipients of random acts of kindness, thank those who helped you profusely, as it may not happen again for a long time (I’m still hoping KARMA WORKS). For those who had a similar experience as me, please feel free to vent below.

You should know by now.. GO in the towns at the end of the BETA! Did you see what the devs had planed for us? It would of made your beta worth it just watching that. Rest assured though, The game goes live in 9 days.

Well i had an even worse problem. I played all weekend now everyones mad at me and trying to find ways to separate me from my PC.

I dedicated my weekend to the BWE. I understand where you're coming from. All that work, and nothing to show for it. But I feel like I came out of this BWE better. Because when the launch comes, I'll know what to do, and getting to where I want to go will be a lot quicker. You may not have gained anything material from the game, but you do have experience. Overall, it was a nice way to spend my spare time. I enjoyed it, even if I have nothing to show for it when it comes time to launch.

March Hare i am gonna take your side here and totally sympathize with you.
I had to work till 7pm friday night and go to bed at 9pm because I had to work in the AM (2hrs of game time, not counting all the times my husband came and pestered me)
Saturday I had to work from 5am-3pm and when I got home I had to run errands with my husband so I only got to play from like 5PM-9pm
Sunday I thought woohoo I am finally free to play and guess what? those darn pesky people that live at your house (aka FAMILY) and the other wierdo's (aka FRIENDS) kept bothering me from 10am till about 5pm, constantly interrupting my game time. Then at 5:30pm I had to leave for about 2 hrs so when I got home at 7 or so I started feeling VERY sick and passed out the rest of the night (trust me the only times I got up was to pay homage to the porcelain god RALPH)
So yeah I can totally sympathize here...

Me as well guys. I must have played for 60 hours this last beta (i know how that may look a little too much, but it was the final BWE!). I kept getting told to turn off my PC by my folks and how I practically sleep at the keys, but it was worth it in my opinion and I would do it all over for a cool experience like the BWE(ending=OMFG!! ). I will be taking a slower pace once GW launches. BWE were good times and I will always cheerish the memories.
Yahooo
hehe...i guess im not quite as addicted to the game (YET ) as all yall hardcore GW gamers :-D i only played for about 3 or four hours total over the weekend. However, as some others have mentioned, im still happy with that, even though it will be thrown away, because now i know what professions i want to have, what attributes to develop, skills to buy, and basically, how i should play the game. So, even when I'm a level 2 in pre-searing, with my first character, I won't be a total noob :-)

I've played every BWE since October and for me this was the best and most enjoyable because I DIDN'T let myself get obsessed and over do it.
Every other one I've been on as long as I could to the point of almost making myself sick as well as getting the family upset with me.
I managed to do a little bit of everything.... in 1-3 hour blocks.
As well as get alot of yard work done and spend time with the family.
It was very important to me to see if I could have fun without having to be on for 6-8-10 hours (or more) at a time.
Having finally kicked another MMO habit that almost ruled my life, begging me to be online with it 24/7, I've been hoping GW will be the game I can play in moderation and not feel like I have to be on all the time.
For me at least GW has the perfect mix of PvE, PvP, GvG to keep me happy without demanding a major time commitment.
