Depends on supply and demand, highest I sold some for is 65g, lowest is 50g.

Never go anywhere lower then 50g.

Char hide price depends on the actual Fur Square price.

As u can trade 4 char hides for 1 fur square.

Check the Fur square price and divide it /4.

more or less.

Selling the hides is the sure way, but if you get lucky with an Expert Salvage Kit, you can get 1 Fur Square from a Charr Hide.

It's a gamble like everything else. I got lucky one day and Salvaged 4 hides into 4 squares, I was gleeful.

As long as you get at least 1 fur per 3 or 4 hides, you're making more of a profit.

What do you average? And what else is salvaged? Tanned squares? It seems like you would need to average 1 every 3 to make up for the kit cost.

Tanned Hide, yes.

It's entirely your call, but I prefer to salvage my hides. I need more Tanned Hide to make another piece of armor, so I'm happy when I get that, and 2 Fur Squares pays for the entire kit (when sold on a good day), so I always come out ahead on salvaging 25 hides.

That said, I don't hunt many Charr. The Hides I'm usually salvaging belong to nastier beasties that don't have handy collectors to convert them for me.

Plus, I hate trying to sell stuff to users. The Trade channel is so full of spammers that it takes hours. I can make money faster just kill > salvage > move on.
