Infusion question

I read that you can get infused 5 times. I also read that it downgrades for your next suit of armor.

Is this still true?

What exactly does it do?

Would it be beneficial to get the 15k armor before infusing?

Sorry if this has been brought up before. I'm new to these boards and I couldn't find it.

It used to be that you HAD to get infused 5 times, once per piece of armour.

However they changed it a while back so that your entire armour set gets infused in one go, but the defense you recieve isn't as good as it used to be. I think infusion used to reduce the health degen from Spectral Agony to 1 pip, whereas now it only reduces it to 3 pips.

Iv'e never heard of there being any limit on how many times you can get infused, so there really isn't much point not getting your current set infused.

What I have done in the past is when a character gets to Moladune, they generally have already purchased the droknar's armour, which then gets infused as part of doing the mission. It may be worth purchasing the droknar armour before doing Moladune if you haven't already, if not just for the infusion aspect, but also such that you have decent armour for the later missions.

I normally make another infusion run after purchasing the 15k armour, or in the case of my monk where I might have multiple sets or components that I switch in and out of, I might do an additional run or two wearing the alternate gear.

So 2 (ish) runs over the course of the life of the character. Not bad, compared to the same process requiring 10 runs before the patch.
