So we all know there is the large world map, and 2 other additional maps, but what I suggest is an account map. An account map would have all the area that you have explored with any character on your account, however, you would not be able to use this map for transportation. That is, you can not zone from to different towns and outposts using this map. The map is merely a referance guide.
So why implement this?
Well, as I see it, I would someday like to explore all of the availible map. Now if I had an account map, I could take the exploration from each character and combine it into one map. It would be easy to see what I've explored and what I haven't. This would also allow me to explore different areas with different characters that are more suited for that area.
In addition, this map could be used as a guide by characters following your first for guidance on where towns and outposts are.
If you dislike this idea, I don't mind. State your opinion.

"Somebody" has already taken this idea and run with it. Search the internet for Guild Wars Maps and see what results you discover - its all there.

I agree... when I'm trying to get somewhere with a new character, it would save me from going to a map online (look in Community Works > Map Project) and playing in windowed mode.

Buy the Prima Strategy Guide. The maps are the best part of it. And have helped me since the Crystal Desert in finding the mission areas and getting to Granite Citadel and Marhan's Grotto with ease.
