Expert vs Standard Salvage Question

When should an expert kit be used? Is it primarily when an item is highly S / when there is a rune involved? At all other times is it better to just used standard, or does every item in the game have a chance of wielding more with expert rather than normal?

im not sure if EVERY item has the potential to weild more...but MOST items do. I use expert salvage kits on pretty much everything...early in the game when I had no money I would expert salvage the runes and highly salvageable stuff...as well as weapons with mods and use a regular salvage kit on everything else.....now that I have the extra gold lying around I use Expert only

There is a post in the first forum that is talking about it.

Use Expert when you have an item that has a modifier ( sword pommel etc ) and you want that. It's not sure you will get the good one or even one of the two

Use Expert when an item has a rune, you always sucessfull remove the rune.

Use expert when you want the rare crafting material from an item, may it be an armor that did drop or a weapon. You don't always have the rare crafting material

Use Normal on the low level item you find because they tend to give rare crafting materials less time than high level items.
