A Couple of questions

First One:

While I was running around regent valley looking for Altheas ashes I stumbled upon a group that was listed as "Grawl petitioners", I killed them all, but now I wonder if that was the right thing to do?

Second One:

On the mission where you help Prince Rurik free all ascalon prisoners I got a bonus mission, to extinguish a flame altar or something similar... All i found however was six flame wielders and I killed all of them - Is that all you have to do, or is there something more?

I don't have an answer for your frist question, having never done that quest. HOWEVER I did do the second one...and you did the same thing we did to begin with, kill them outright. Sadly violence is not the approriate answer this time, or at least, not at first. You have to keep your distance and follow them. They go through a gate you otherwise are unable to go through, THEN You can kill them. The flame temple is just past that.
