Dmg showing, new interface?
chameleon03
Ok, i would love it very much if gw would incorpert a way to see what ur team is doing dmg wise. So that u can find out who is the weak link in the party. Im tired of running hoh, and team areans and having to figure out that this warrior or this ranger or this other dude isnt doing correct dmg/healing. Another thing, is we need to see what type of mana people have; come on now, u allow us to see health why not allow us to see the mana of our party?
WoW had a 3rd party interface that greatly made it a whole lot funnier and easier to play. Im sure gw is capable of allowing us to change the interface to allow us to turn on/off dmg listing of every player.
Also, the capabiltys to click on a player in party; and seeing there skills equpied in tool bar/attribute points would greatly be helpful.
I think all these ideals, and would boost the playabilty of this game.

Good idea and moved to the appropriate forum.

I just wonder how it would go about showing degen rates and stuff like that, but I'm sure they could do it. People would just need to keep in mind that many classes aren't mean for just damage dealing, some mesmers, necros, or even rangers for example. It wouldn't really be able to show out how many hexes, conditions, or how useful they were in-battle me thinks. Still a good idea though.

We definately need an indicator to show how much mana our allies have. Many a times do we run into situations when the caster runs out of mana and forgets to tell us. If there was some skinny bar under the Health bar showing us how much mana they have left then we would know to rest or use some enchantment to make their mana regen go up. This would also help with people who work with henchmen and need to know how much mana their monks have left.

This idea is great, it adds a whole new dimention to game play, It would also be nice to see the enemy's energy your targeting as well. It would really help a necro to do steals.

just put a xx/yy label at the end of the HP bar...
chumsy
they could make the party interface numbers instead of a red life bar that way you could see their energy and life

That's dumbing down the game though. I mean, part of the challenge in the game comes from needing to pay attention to what your teammates are doing and to communicate your actions and conditions.

I like the whole idea in general, that could be very usefull, and i don't see any major flaw about that.

I think that the first part of this is horrid. The "weak link" may be countering spells and preventing tons of damage. A well time powerblock is a great thing, shutting down an enemy caster, yet will show as nothing. Likewise, the warrior that ends up TAKING damage while tanking using a defensive stance is doing his part just fine - not everyone needs to be dealing massive damage. This idea will just lead to errors, as you can't determine what the effect of delaying the spammed Reversal of Fortune for 60 seconds is, or what an energy drain is "worth" in damage.

If there was no health line the only way to see the damage would be to watch them get hit and you dont even know how much damage they were taking.
But an awesome counter to that would to add blood flying out depending on the damage, then it would be rated M for mature.

Sounds good. Might stop some bad times.

Yea, I'm fine with an energy line. Just no hex or condition indicators.

I'd like to see health and energy indicators for allies and enemies. In the case of enemies, tho, it'd be interesting if the indicators were "coarse" ie. just High, Medium, Low. It'd also make it a bit less cluttered. (The "Bars" can just consist of 3 dots each)
I'm also interested in seeing what damage my allies are doing, merely to compare it with my own damage :P
Finally, it'd be nice to have the Skill Indicator icons in your party bar as well, so you can see what skill your party members are activating at a glance. (as if you had targeted them, etc)
Of course, what I would -really- prefer is to have better graphical and visual cues for skills, spells, and the status of your allies. I'd rather watch the 3d display than have to stare at the HUD all the time. The limping animation, the emote for shouts, etc, are all good starts. But every condition, hex, spell, attack should be clearly recognisable from the graphics. It'd be tricky, but that's the (unattainable?) ideal.

It would be interesting if there's Illusion of Health spell that makes you (and you teammates) think you have more health than you actually have--and a Hypochondriac spell that does the opposite. Pure illusions.
Ashley Twig
I agree, the idea is great, but...
... it would stop people from learning to read.
I saw the above lines often, and I don't think that the warrior mentioned would've benefited from a blue energy line.
If he's not reading the energy warnings of the monk, how can you expect him to watch the monks blue line?
I think some people even turn their party-window off.

I strongly support the idea of having an energy indicator for everyone. Necros will be better able to help allies in regaining energy, and mesmers and rangers will be better able to manage energy denial.
Esprit
An energy indicator would be nice, it will help Warriors realize their Monks do not have energy.
Though an energy indicator for enemies shouldn't be shown.
Another thing I'd like to see implemented is to show if you are losing energy (besides the blue bar). You see when you loose health, or when you deal damage, and when you gain experience. But you don't see if you loose energy (or gain). Often I am fighting a group of mobs, one that might have a mesmer with energy draining skills, and all of a sudden I get the "Not Enough Energy" pop up, and I see that I have less that 5 energy, where I had near full energy 10 seconds ago. And I didn't use up all the energy from skills.
I'd like to see little number pop-ups for energy gain and loss.

Theres an old post on this forum that has a small suggestion related to this at http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=11916. I posted an idea to show allies energy levels, but after all this time, ANET still has not shown interest in updating the interface... Here is the picture I posted, I think it would be a nice addition (of course not exactly like that, something more appealing, it was only a quick sketch).

god, if that would help us monks get any less of this situation (which happens a LOT in random parties) then i'm all for it. whenever i join a random team for mission or quest or whatever either they are complete idiots and turn party chat off (heLLLoOoO?!?!) or they just ignore you when you flash you are low on mana, wait wait wait, recharge recharge. no one listens. and then they blame it on you because they ran into a mob of 30 monsters when you're the only monk with half mana. so yeah it would probably help i think they would look at a bar more than listen to monks.
