Embarked on my first smite run today, cool thing is.....it was a three man smite run!

Now I wont go into detail about how that works, beacuse im sure someone will report it.

But it sure is slow and steady with three guys, the team idea is almost flawless, and everybody is sure to get good drops. We slowly killed off the aatxes and and grasps in the start. Then made our way to smite land. I have pics of me journey.

^^^ a somewhat ripoff of that oh so stunning picture, I just love the sight though.

Well anyway, we got started on the smites, needless to say the way this build works makes it more than simple to pick them off when you have max fire atts and super good aoe talent

The first group we killed, on my first try, I got an eternal bow. I was real happy. That among other things that dropped in my name, made my adventure kick ass.

Heres a pic of my insane AoE (ok the pic was taken right before the real insane aoe)

Finally to conclude my story, at the last group of smites, with not a single ecto glob having dropped. I come in with the meteors and bam! Glob for me!!!

YAAY

enjoy

The point of this thread, is so people stop complaining about bad drops when UW and Fow have great drops.

Plus, people can share their UW experience

So let me get this right.

You guys are pretty much snubbing this thread because this guy has posted his story about a good experience in game. Hes obviously going to be exited about getting a good drop. Anyone would. Id rather see more posts like these than 1,000,000 more posts full of people moaning about drop rates and the economy.

Yeap, you can get good drops in UW...

Anyhow, I have a funny suspicion that drops for individuals are not exactly random. It seems like the more often you enter a region, the more likely a poor drop would be allocated to you, and likewise, the reverse is true.

In my experience, there was once when I just started having a "season" of really poor drops, so I decided to just go off and complete some other quests, and came back to the temple the following day.

Let's just put it this way, on that 8 member run, I got *every* single good drop that dropped, ectoplasm... max purple storm bow.. 1 max eternal shield.. it was all mine.

Maybe it was random, maybe not. But who knows, it is an avenue worth exploring. Meanwhile keep playing the game and stop 'cessing over the loot I guess

None

I've yet to know why people do smite runs. I've done several and noone in my party including me gets the drops maybe I'm just unlucky/ need to do it more consistently.

Then I usually hop over to FoW and get some good drops. Got 4 shards once after leaving Uw.

Nice pics btw.

I HATE, HATE, HATE smite runs. Nobody ever wants to quest, they start whining and leave if you want to quest, the drops aren't nearly as good as UW. You can get the same drops (except for monk items) from Bladed Aaxtees.

Smiting groups are worthless

i agree, in all the times ive been there i said "so any questing today?" and they all laughed at me and said "smite runs give the best drops"... i hate it, only a monk got a good drop thats it, i mean last time i checked the game was based around doing quests, not being a bunch of pirates/vikings and looting the place.. bigest waste of my 2 hours (and no i would not leave because im not that kind of player)

Have to agree, UW is annoying hard and drops are rubbish... the quests are good nice they give tons of EXP.

I currently have 32K and going... would be 80K but my ranger didn't outfitting. Needless to say I don't farm, maybe once or twice a week. Have a place which makes me 1-2K every 10-15mins so its ok.

People need to save up so much gold in this game is crazy.

I just found and sold a stormbow for 30k. I've never been under 38k since and I NEVER farm. Only went under 40k when I bought Droknar Armor for my level 8 o.o

Got no idea why people pay so much money for storm bows... I mean all they are fancy looking Longbows... O_o

That's enough for some people.
I'd rather have a fancy looking gold/purple longbow with good range than a similar halfmoon using which I have to practically stand under the monster's nose to attack. But thats me, scardy soft skin.

Thus the reason in PvP battles I stay in the high ground. I do have a backup longbow for shotting at people out of range or running away

But you just can't beat the rate of fire of a shortbow/half moon, I can fire off almost 2 shots in the time it takes for a longbow to shot... plus I can get dodge long range shots. Where are I maybe in closer I more likely to hit my target.

So while your storm bow may look good, and personally no one really stares at it, or cares, my bow is more idea for my PvE and PvP needs.
