Life Barrier

Anyone use Life Barrier much? I can imagine that it would be extremely useful to a PvP W/Mo.

Personally I found life bound to be better off...
1st, save elite for damage.
2nd, warrior armor like the knight and ascalon can reduce damage from the life bound.
3rd, cheaper to put on again if removed.
4th, no recharge on life bound.

I use life barrier exclusively on my Mo/Me signet monk.
It has two main advantages over life bond:
1) If a high damage attack hits it doesn't hurt you as well.
2) It will reduce MAGIC damage.
In the 4v4 arenas i cast life barrier on all 3 other chars as well as vital blessing, though ive been using prot bond on myself more often than not to keep my hp up. Unfortunately its hard to stay away from the warriors that just utterly kill me. I need to work on this build a bit to take care of that problem. (need to work bane signet back in for knockdown, not sure what else).
But life bond has its advantages for the reasons mentioned in the above post, and life barrier only needs to be used for specific builds.

they used to be good 1 monk wuold bring barrier and bring the whole team the other wuold bring bond and healer would seed him, with those spirit builds and so many mesmers and necromancers bringing anti-enchanment spells it's rpetty much use less now for pvp. I find it more sueful for pve, places like UW Protective Spirit + Life Barrier

I'd imagine life barrier would be great for a W/MO but he's limited to only 2... and even then, he'll be forced to use little to no energy skills whatsoever (ADRENILINE!!!!!). IMO Life bond tends to be better than life barrier for a prot monk since you can combine it with balthazars spirit for energy. The only problem with life bond is that it redirects the damage you, with HIGH protective prayers, the damage done to you will be 50% of the original and subtracted by 3x (Max 32 I believe). With low protective prayers however... it'll most likely end up suicide. Life Barrier is more for the side-line classes like W/Mo or R/Mo. The damage won't be redirected so it doesn't really matter even if you have low protective prayers.

Note that Life Bond ONLY affects attacks. It will do little to stop Elementalists from nuking a Monk. You don't need many Life Bonds. Really, you only need to cast it on the Monks.

Can someone please clear this up for me..... ive never heard anything about this but, does life bond and life barrier stack? Surely one reduces by half, the other by half..... thats good isnt it>
Or does it not stack?
Or does it not stack?

Cast life bond and the life barrier to reduce damage to 1/4

This spell is the spiker's one of the worst nightmares - since it works against ALL damage. Comgining it with Protective spirit you can keep this ally quite...ALIVE
Life bonds is similar effect but then 45% (rough) of the half damage is redirected to the caster, thus you will have to heal him and yourself.

try using protective spirit and life bond... that is something worth the coin.
