Game Music?
Vittorio
Anyone else feel that the Guild Wars music is highly disappointing in general?

Will there be more background music in the retail though? Most of the times the themes only played upon entering an area, and soon after, its just silence...that got kind of annoying =P
Synthos
I have to agree with Cain, the music fits the game very well. Its also not to overpowering and sets a nice mood.

The music is all right for the missions, quests, etc, but the arena battle music got old very, VERY fast for me. It was rather dull, annoying, and had no climactic points at all. Just my opinion, I suppose.

The music is perfect. Video game music has now reached the same level as movie music.

ah i love when the drums start pounding while your in the heat of the battle.
the developers did a great job with the music because its not just ramdomly played, you here different music depending on what your doing at the moment.

It fits the game perfectly. Very well done. Cheers to the music geniuses behind the game

Yeah the music is great. Guild Wars (and morrowind) is one of those games that you start up and think "Eh this could make it into a movie".

The music is great, cant get enough of it. Very relaxing, none of tht, "I gotta get off this game before i get a headache from this shit happy music" That i got while playing rose online, yuck. That game was just TOO happy, and the grammer was misserable.

GW suffers from CoH-itis. The music fits the game but it is not "always on".
Sound & character animations make or break a game for me and the long periods of silence make me want to turn on the TV (which is never a good thing in the first place).

I have not noticed any periods of silence.
Devil's Dictionary
I get occasional periods of silence.
I am not a fan of Jeremy Soule. His music is generic sheets for chamber orchestra. Every single melody sounds just like the previous. Bah.

Mordread
THe music is perfect cause its not playing all the time and overpowering like most MMOs. It is much more atmospheric and adds to feel of exploring to be out in a wasteland and only be able to hear a bird cawing. I think its very nicely done.

i rarely get music. my bf (who i adventure with) gets it constantly. but mine is turned on... very weird
but what i hear, i love
but what i hear, i love

The only problem I have is that the music isnt 5.1 or some equilvent. I mean music this good should be heard in 5.1 surrond sound. If you know what I mean. Jermey has some great talent and I feel that it goes to waste when I cant hear it in surrond. So usually I just play the preorder cd.

I recognize MULTIPLE instances of reused suites from morrowind and NWN, especially true in the opening music sequence upon starting GW, the key changes are almost identical to the music you hear upon starting Morrowind. But to me, that isnt a bad thing at all.. It's great stuff, and fits this even better than it fit anything else. Not to mention the MUCH larger part of the music is all new from what I hear.
