Million Damage Masacre
Rick James
AceSnyp3r
Looks pretty 'shopped to me, judging mainly by the attribute points, 256/4? 512/5?
Synthos
Yet another person learns how to use photoshop.
Nizzim
you blocked out the district?
I swear some people are insane

Would have been more convincing if you sorted the attribute refund points out, they're all over the place.
Unless of course they're like that because of a real hack in which case you're going to get banned, either way it's quite funny.

Its not even the same font as the game numbers are..

it would be more believeable if it was actualy possible
Weezer_Blue
nice photoshopping.
... I wish I had photoshop... but I'm too cheap.

Unfortunately the font is the same, it is very possible to hack these numbers, and I wouldn't put it past some people to do so.
I mean, look at FFXI, for example... lol. Hacks to run faster, walk in the sky, etc etc. Very possible for GW as well. Albeit low.

Tigris Of Gaul
I'm pretty sure it's the same font...
Sanity
Nice picture, although I'm not fond of fakes.
Darc.Syde
it could be a hack that only affects his client, but doesnt reflect on anets servers. so go in with your 350 healing prayers, you'll still be healing for 16 or under.
TopGun
I doubt that Syde, that'd be a hardcoded hack, and a pretty useless one at that.
You know, I thought the font type was very convincing, he just needs to learn to count.

Ultimate_Gaara
the problem is you cant base its realness off of text, its not rocket science to find a matching font
Speedy
It's obviously photoshopped, but how is this a massacre if you're not killing anything?
Ultimate_Gaara
and thats hardly 1,000,000 damage... i guess its just to show off his photoshop skills and the title is just meant to draw you in
ManadartheHealer
Ah, the wonders of photoshop
Squallox
Syde is correct. This could also be a client side edit using tsearch or something.

2063 is the correct amount of damage a signet of judgment would do at level 512, assuming that the damage increase is linear.
Can someone with the smite attribute level GREATER than 12 confirm how much damage they are doing with their signet?
At level 12 the damage is 63. If the progression is linear, then the damage is 67 at level 13 smite or 71 at level 14 and so on (base 15 damage + 4 every level). If, however, someone comes back and says that the damage is NOT 67, and is actually anything else, then the picture is faked. If however the damage IS 67, then we are no closer to knowing the truth but at least we tried.

lol... not even worth mentioning the validity of the picture... but the font match is pretty smooth.

It is possible to hack the client application on your computer- people have done that for speed hacks. Unfortunately, the server keeps track of all the information about your character, and ignores anything your client tells it that can't happen. Sure, you can zoom around 10x faster than normal movement speed, but to everyone else, you move normally, and you don't actually see mobs that are not nearby to where the server has your character, and you'll routinely get warped back to where you are at for the server(as a side note, this is where rubberbanding comes from- if the server thinks your caught on something, and your client doesn't, a couple seconds later, you'll jump back to where the server says you are).
I'm sure a similar thing could be done for attribute-point allocation, client-side, but in the photoshopped picture, if you ever use that Signet of Judgement, you'll be doing the damage of a level 4 SoJ, as that's the amount of attribute points the server says you've put into smiting prayers(since there's 5 to boost it to the next level). Your client can say whatever it wants, but you're not going to have any advantage when you actually play.
Whether or not the picture is photoshopped, it's not having any effect on the game- only the view from your client.

Where, exactly, does one find henchmen in the game that are simply named "Healer Henchman"?
Nizzim
in the tombs silly

Nope, it wouldn't be a "hardcoded hack". I could do it and I'm 13...

Not that we needed any more evidence that this person's claim is bogus...
this is an upclose version of this person's pic:
this is an upclose version of my hero screen:
Note the clarity of the pixels around the numbers on my pic as compared to the first pic. Lots of fuzziness which most times means doctoring.
Not that we didn't know this already
*edit* not to mention the different font usage as I have since noticed hehe

Also the overlay settings, try using -largest- on the Options menu, and his font will look a lot more believable.
I don't think this is photoshopped, just messed with in coding. And not knowing how server client data check and balance works, I'm not going to go into its impact on gameplay.

I have a funny feeling though, we'll never see it.
DrSLUGFly
I can't believe that the validity of this is even being discussed... there's no mystery to solve, there's no proof needed...
Dr Morbius
Because we're bored?
Saerden
There is no way to disprove his / her claims. The picture may be a real screenshot - the interesting part is wether the server uses his numbers, or not. And there is no way you can disprove that. He can fail to prove them, but this is no falsification. Or can you disprove the existence of a hiding god, too?
Mithie
How high do you want the numbers? Just tap into the Guild Wars memory instance, find the address of those stats, and raise them up. Clientside only, but it'll get the effect up.
Imrys Starborn
Everyone take a gooood look at the number 5 on both pictures posted above... they are NOT the same... hence, the foto is undoubtedly fixed

Edit: And now that I'm looking more closely at the serif's (or lack of them), I'm noticing issues with the 4's and 2's as well.
Synthos
I think the bottom photo is just stretched a bit, so the serif is hidden.

I even went a little overboard with the stretch... and as you can see... the serifs remain. In other words... FAKE!
Edit: Another way to look at is... the 5's in the legit image go flat at the base. The 5's in the fake image are rounded at the base.
zidane888
I work at premier graphics on a typsetting team. IE our job is to replace as precisely as possible words/letters/numbers using a database of fonts. ^ this image is doctored period.
Dr Morbius
As I stated earlier... I'm bored. So here's zoomed in look at the differences in the 5's.
Algren Cole
the fake pictures uses a Tahoma Family Font the real graphics are a Roman Family Font....close but you'll notice that the kerning is off as well...which could have been faked had he just used seperate layers for each number.
