im trying to make a music video and im currently using a capture program called fraps that seems popular among guild wars movie makers. it captures scenes and puts it into an avi format. i edit the scenes in windows movie maker, and when i try to put in music it doesnt work. i read in some forums that windows movie maker has issues with .avi format and sound.

what do you use to capture/edit your videos? if you use windows movie maker, how do u get sound to work? help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

Avi and WMM are not compatible, that is correct. Just use mp3 versions of the audio instead. Or midi but that would sound cheesey. Unless that's what you were going for.

I don't do GW movies, although I'm tempted. I do comics for Ultima Online using stills in a moving format. I used to use WMM but I switched to Pinnacle Studio 9, $80 USD. I hope to work on real life films once I get a camera, so I need at least a decent beginner's program.

If your gonna only make this kind of stuff, stick with free and WMM.
