I just built a max damage poisoner's longbow of defense (+4), that I'm pretty happy with. Otherwise, what would you build as your "ultimate" bow?

Whats the difference between a normal and Mursaat bow?

I think Zealous Longbow of Quickfire would be the ultimate bow, but that doesnt exist...

Appearence. I was under the impression that all muursat bows are simply horn bows with different appearences; evidently I'm wrong.

Storm Bows seem to scratch most people's itch. If you're into flaunting your money for a plastic toy, go get one. They've got longbow specs and good critical %.

I already sold off all my storm bows *shrug*. longbows are too slow and slow=low dps so i use a horn bow with tigers fury and favorable wind to give a straight flight path as well as a rapid rate of fire.

I'm just about finished up with my perfect bow collection. So far I have.

Zealous Half Moon of Fortitude
Max Damage Half-Moon
+15% > 50
+30 Fortitude Grip
Zealous Bow String

Poisoners Ascalon Bow of Marksmanship
Max Damage Ascalon Bow
+15% > 50
+20% Marksmanship Grip
Poisoners Bow String

Sundering Hornbow of Marksmanship
Max Damage Horn Bow (Old style)
+15% > 50
+20% Marksmanship Grip
Sundering Bow String 10/10

What I would like is the following.

Vampiric Half-Moon of Fortitude
Max Damage Half-Moon
+15% > 50
+30 Fortitude Grip
5/1 Vampiric String

The feathered style Longbow with
Max Damage
+15% > 50
mods that I can swap out when I need to.

I've never said that storm bows have good performance; I just said they look like neon flashing toys that little boys play with.

I think the reason Stormbows etc are so popular is because people think they are the best, in most cases, like cars for eg, generally the cooler somthing looks the better it is, this is true in most games too. So here people see that something looks amazing, so they automatically think its the best, same with 15k armor.
Although there isnt anything wrong with paying for something that looks cool, as long as you've got the money.

I like my storm bow. I think it looks really nice. BTW the short bow is not that much faster than the storm has 40 foot less range and a longer flight time.

So is there a Mursaat version of the Flatbow?

but you're forgetting something, storm bow has a higher arc to its flight path as compared to a shortbow

up close and personal i'd use my shortbow over a longbow anyday (especially with the one i have now )

but..short bow or half moon + tigers fury = effective
longbow + tigers fury = waste...

I think that's the main difference.

i guess you are right in some sense although if you do the math i guess a short bow is a better choice than a horn bow. lower refire time and near to the same flight time although throw up a favorable winds and pretty much all the flight time is the same. or close enough that the refire time is all that matters. and lets be honest how often do we do long range fighting? i can think of about 2 times in PvE where doing long range is useful for helping complete the mission(ascension missions). you should always have a back up longbow for those occasions and pulling but in combat the shortbow is the superior weapon.

Tinweasele: exactly...I'd never use a longbow as my main. I have two half moons as my main bows. one fiery one icey(seems to be all I really need as I'm a trapper not a marksman). I use the longbow for firing over obstacles or firing up to enemies perched above me..other than that I never use it. And it's a simple clean white max dmg ascalon bow. It's good for pulling too...but really you can pull without using a bow.

does anyone know if speed enhancements are ever on bow drops? or is it only the like 2 collectors? i would kill many people for the chance to use a fiery short bow with 66% speed bonus.

For the perfect cheap bow go with a short ascalon collectors bow with +15% dmg, a +5 defence bow grip and a poisoners bow string.

Where can I get that bow? I mean, where is the collector? That bow sounds great for my budget builds, since I'm trying to get good armor for my Warrior too.
