Remove Elite Skill Caps from Missions

Fairly controversial, I admit. But suddenly it seems it is impossible to get thru a mission without discovering that at least one person only joined up to capture a skill, and who then promptly quits. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this.

Simply force all skill capping to happen in the normal areas...

This isn't a problem with skill capping...just a problem with stupidity.

When I want to cap, I join a group that is capping or go with henchies. Common sense people, come on

or how about if they drop the mission it doesnt stick on their bar?

dont finish dont get it

edit for above

or have a vote to let the person drop like the skip button on cinimas

if it is a capping group there should be no problem

best is to agree ahead of time on what you are doing

OOOOOO good one, Loviatar! Make the cap only "keepable" if the mission runs from start to finish. I like it!

Though Mandar is correct: Generally speaking if you want to cap, go with a cap group or hench it since it's doubtful anything like you're suggesting would ever get in.

Sure, if the group says up front it is a cap group, no problem. But people are blatantly lying now - claiming they want to finish the mission and then quitting. And some of them boast about it! Amazing!

I don't like that. If you joined to complete the mission... but then you died after capping the skill, then you would have to cap the skill again.

Possibly if all the humans in the team die you keep it as well.
Then capping teams can still have it fairly easy, as can people doing it on their own, even if a stupid hench gets stuck and refuses to die.

I think I saw a honorable player the other day...but he left quickly.
Like Mandarath says, advertise up front - LFG for MISSION.
Then play accordingly.

Wouldn't be so much of a problem if people looking for captures wouldn't join mission groups JUST for the capture, then leave...

*grin* Just because I play nice and you play nice, Thurston, doesnt mean EVERYONE else does. But we still have to suffer with the idiocy of others.

I like that idea. Making it so they have to finish the mission to keep the capped skill. I've sen some players in our ring of fire missions not doing much. What skills are you using? Oh seeking blade sever artery orision of healing mending and 4 frigen cap sigs.
On the othjer hand it's reaaly feels like an acomplishment when your party still tripuhms despite leavers.
Made a party for clearing perdition rock then moving onto mission. By the time we'd defeated most mobs there were 3 palyers left! 2 rangers and a monk. Well we managed to kill the ether seal and all the poor little 17 mantel and brezze keepers and make it. Was fun.
Then again I've only ever had one or 2 leavers in misisons. Guess that's luck on my behalf.

usually if i need to cap something, i help them finish the mission. Its online ettiquette that nobody has. Just like in mineral springs, i just needed to craft some damask, but if you start it, you gotta help finish it. So i spent an hour clearing out mineral springs with a group of 6 after 2 people left when they got their skill.

I've been complaining about this since the first week.

No one listened

Maybe someone will listen when they see this is not just me talking.

I like the suggestions I see as I see them

1)if you leave your party in mission, you do not get your new fancy skill.
2)if you entire party dies, you keep your skill
3)if you win the mission you keep you skill
4)I bet most of those mission groups will win missions

I played with a horrible monk on one of last missions. I haven't gone back. This monk died over and over, then admitted to having 3 superior runes in. Of course this *.* had only come to cap a skill from the last character. After some time the monk started saying not to res him/her because the DP was so high (had been 60% for a while). I told them blatently that they were no help to the team and they threatened to leave. They never did, because they new we would kill their boss.

This mission was the only one I have seen recently that did not let you cap a skill from the last character. I almost peed my self I was so happy. Expecially, when I realized I had capped the skill, in a skill cap group, three mission before then. Ahh, sweet justice.
