Where to find dye?
Sithlord of Death
I was just wondering if there was any where I could kill to have a higher percentage of finding dye... Is there any level frame or types of monsters I should be killing? I'm a W/E and I'm trying to make unique dyes.

r u in the 1st or 2nd chpt if u r in the 1st kill gargoyles in the back of the catacombs f in the 2nd any where but u shouldnt try to mix dyes, in the 2nd chapter they r worth a lot(to the dye trader) and if u mix dyes then they arent really worth anything

Well I'm in the second chapter and I'm lvl 20 I was just looking for colors for my guild... I'm not trying to make money. Although I dont mind making money .

The gargoyles are a great suggestion pre-searing

Where should I hunt the gargoyles? The ones out side the gates of Kytra?

We farm pre-sear weekly for dyes and rescouces.
Bring it forward, del char, do again.

In post searing, I've found that gargoyles and devours between Sanetarium and Ascalon City drop good dyes. I found two black dyes there, while on normal walks between the two cities.

The best place to find dye is pre-searing. Just don't sell any dye you find there and you can make a mint once past that section of the game. I've found like 14+ dyes pre-searing and like 1 post-searing so far ...
If you really want dyes.. your best best is to do as someone else here does.. create a character, run around pre-searing killing things for an hour or 2 or 3.. your prolly going to get 2-6 dyes easy in that time, maybe more if your lucky.. get to post-searing and dump in storage.. delete character... rinse and repeat till you have all the dye you want :P
Man, I could prolly make 50K if I sold all the dye sitting in my storage.. LOL.. well, ok prolly not that much.. but it sometimes feels like it when I see the dye-trader's prices.. hehehehe
Edit - I just counted. 28 dyes in my storage. Maybe someday I'll either use some or sell em and make some money. hehhee.. up to 9K gold! wheee...

Oh well I was hoping I could use my lvl 20 char to do some good farming... Oh well I'll try that thanks.

Make a Pre-Searing character, do all the quest and lvl up till about 10-12 and go and slay Gargoyles. I did the same with my lvl 12 Warrior, I killed Gargoyles in 2 hits. Don't expect to much of it though, you wont find a Black Dye every run. I had found 5 Black Dyes and 12 Silver Dyes, many other Dyes. But I spent lots of time in there.
The quickest way to get there is this: Go into the catacombs from Ashford Abbey, then go right and walk the path right of the small building there, follow that path and you will see some gargoyles and you'll see a statue (of Grenth I think) with 7 Gargoyles. Kill them all, and do it again I did it with my lvl 12 Warrior with the collector's armor and a 13-20 War Hammer of Fortitude with +21 Health. It was easy with thhat character, not sure if it's also that easy with other characters, but I think most of them can manage
