I've noticed a recent spike in immature people playing the game; here is an example of which. I only captured the after scene, though.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...hTraperguy.jpg

Ok, I got into this game where there were 2 rangers, a mesmer and myself.
I asked "What builds are you rangers?"
Ranger DT (Not actuall name, abriviated): "......"
Sagius Truthbaron: "Like, are any of you trappers?"
Ranger DT: "Look at my name"
Sagius: "Oh, so do you want us to play offencively around your traps or defencively?"
Ranger DT: "........."
Ranger DT: "---- noob"
Sagius: "Attack the called target"
*Ranger DT stays and fights by himself as we go off after enemy monk and mesmer*
Ranger DT: "......."
Ranger DT: "......."
Sagius: "Cut it out."
Ranger DT: "......"
Ranger DT: "....."
*We win game*
Mesmer Has Left
Other Ranger Has Left

Ranger DT: "....."
Sagius: "Stop that, you made the last group leave by spamming."
Ranger DT: "......"
Ranger DT: "......"
Sagius: "Attack the called target please."
New Monk: "Res.. Protect me"
*Ranger DT runs around after everyone is dead*
Sagius: 'Yah, every good player doesn't bring a res and then tries to run after his team dies.'
*Ranger DT dies*
new Monk: "You can't even protect me? Oh sure, DONT PROTECT THE HEALING MONK"
Ranger DT: " ---- noob"
New Monk: "noobs"

And then the screen shot takes over from there
There wa salso a part I didn't screen where I told him that I was going to post this and he said "Good, just makes a u a bigger n00b".

Well, the game - atleast in PvP - is starting to remind me of the extremely immature warcraft III community. A game chalk full of 9-14 year old (Seriously). The game after I got out with him, one of the rangers died and he started to scribble over the entire map, making pentagrams and male organs all over it O.o

YAY Griefers.

Meh, I really don't have anyone on the ignore list, if I see someone annoying, I'll never see them again once I've finished what I'm doing. If I do, I probably wont recognise or take notice of them anyway.

I put them on my friends list

I really don't put people on my list very much either, not even friends. Like one person brought out, most of their friends are in their guild. I put griefers in it usualy becuase it's so spacious.

The punks that get mad and leave in center quest. Those are the ones we dont play with any more.

I may be the oldest person playing GW, I see all kinds in here. Having come from SWG, and WWII flight sims before that, the level of serious players is way down from what Im used to.

Star Wars Galaxies must have the most mature MMORPG fan base I have ever seen.

My guess to the reason for base immature with this game is that most players are getting off from games like Quack, Half-Life/Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2 and Warcraft III/WoW.

My guess as to why star wars galaxies has a good fan base is because they're all star wars fans. I'd appreciate it if you didn't make your self out to be an ass and say that anyone who plays Quack, Half life/Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2, and the warcraft series are more prone to being griefers. Any game played by a pretty general fanbase of humans is going to have that.

But not to such a large extent. I've seen people who buy seperate accounts and steal keycodes JUST to grief in Warcraft.

The only servers I've EVER found on the Battlefield series that didn't contain players who didn't use graphical, sexual language were on family and historical servers, also ones being ran directly by game modders.

I've never played Quack, but I've seen videos of them throwing their monitors and screaming in french

Ever seen the Half-Life forums?

Here is an odd example . A new play opens that combines elements of both Italian Opera and Wrestling. More people from the Wrestling community show up for the event than those of the Opera community?

Whose traits do you think the Wrestling community will more take on for this mixed event?

Birds of a feather flock together, you know. And those games attract birds of the pattern and region

That's humanity, it has absolutely nothing to do with the game what so ever.

I thought I was the oldest....how old ARE you?

Greg or Peter? (or if you're a guy: Marcia or Jan?)
First Darren or second?
"American Woman" by the Guess Who or Lenny Kravitz?
Pong or GW?
Peter Graves or Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible)?
The Rat Pack or the Brat Pack?

You missed my point, then. The opera community wouldn't be shouting "Take off your top" to every woman that came out, would they?

What I'm saying is, those games attract dim minded, egotistical individuals who play the game to further their ego. "WOOT WOOT I JUST PWNED U". That kind of thing. Obviously a respectful person would never do anything like that; the games aren't meant to appeal to that kind of crowd.

You're probably right, and everyone who listens to rap is prone to steal, Everyone who listens to rock is prone to slit their wrists, and everyone who listens to mozart is prone to have an IQ of 130 and up.

You're working on alot more generalized fields here. There are really only two kinds of wrestling. The kind one would play at your school or the kind one would watch on the WB at 4am.

One could pick atleast 5 types of rap, possibly 100s of types of rock and Mozart is on such a populous plain that it attracts even those that I had described as the majority of wrestling fans.

And yes, of course a television program about men that slam each into chairs and rape people and corpses every month or two draws such a diverse crowd.

Well my guess that SWG is now a older MMORPG and people migrated to the newest ones (EQ2 and WoW) leaving only the dedicated players.

Serious Star Wars fans would not want to play a Jedi in the Emperial age and SWG originaly did not had Jedi, they were added by "fan request".

Exactly my point, Just like there's more than one type of gamer champ. Putting a face on someone simply because they play a specific game or listen to a certain type of music is very, very stupid. So I'm asking that you don't do it.

It had nicer people when I first played it. I had only met one disrespectful person in my whole time playing.

This differs in the way that I am not labeling a specific type of genre, rather labeling specific games.

I played Warcraft III almost 2-3 times a week for about 7 months. I had only met a slight handful of respectful players EVER. Most of the players who play that game - while it is still a fun game - are very young and immature people who play becuase it is T rated or college age people who hate their lives and jobs or people taking a "Break from WoW". Those were the majority of players that I found.

A bad fan base makes a game so much worse. I'm glad they're all stuck in WoW.

By the way, it's already noted that you play some of those games. You know the type of players that play them. Why get offended? You certainly don't seem to deny it.

I agree with standard in every way in this argument. I play Warcraft III, CS, CS:S. But I consider my self a casual and mature player. Also find it offensive that you think that since I play those games that I am going to come out 9 years younger and a piss poor attitude.

No, I don't deny it at all actually. I aimbot in cs, I maphack in sc, and my favorite thing about css is making maps for it. I'm really only out to have fun, whether it ruins your gaming experience or not, oh well. I probably wouldn't like you if I ever met you in real life. Call me immature and childish, that's fine you're entitled to your opinion. But, It's really dumb to say that everyone who plays these games are just like me, or immature. Do the world a favor and stop stereotyping because it already has enough of it without you.
